FOX hit ‘Empire’ may be beefing up to 18 episodes for its second season, but we’re beginning to wonder how it’ll accommodate the growing list of stars on its cast.
Mariah Carey is the latest name confirmed to appear on the music drama’s sophomore run.

Confirmation came via creator Lee Daniels, who cheekily slotted in the news while tributing the singer at her Hollywood Walk of Fame presentation last night.
Speaking in front of the thousands in attendance, acclaimed director Daniels didn’t disclose the diva’s role. His words, however, did incite a chorus of cheers.
The ‘We Belong Together’ has previously worked with Daniels on movies including ‘The Butler,’ ‘Precious,’ and 2008 dramedy ‘Tennessee’ – for which she earned praise from critics.
Carey joins previously announced new guest stars Kelly Rowland, Chris Rock, Lenny Kravitz, Alicia Keys, and, Adam Rodriguez.

Great to see Mimi diversifying her media portfolio. ‘Empire’ is as hot a show as a show gets at the moment, as such it’s an awesome look for her – and all involved.
Here’s hoping all these cool moves she’s making serve as a pre-cursor to a musical comeback.

Mariah should have played Courtney Love’s part. Perfect Part for her. FADED could have been the hit single she has been searching for but as usually Mariah’s drama and super dramatic life got in the way of — great music.
