Michael Jackson TV Series In Production / Warner Bros Readying Show About Singer’s Last Days

In life Michael Jackson boasted one of the most captivating success narratives in entertainment history. Hence, it’s little wonder why – six years on from his sudden death – the King of Pop still remains a fascinating figure in the media arena.

It’s clearly a stance Warner Bros co-sign, for the studio is currently working on a unique TV series about MJ’s final days.

According to Deadline, the studio have teamed with author and broadcaster Tavis Smiley to turn a number of his books into scripted television offerings for network and cable TV.

The first will be for ‘Before You Judge Me: The Triumph And Tragedy of Michael Jackson’s Last Days.’

Interestingly, the book isn’t even out yet (due June 2016), but the wheels are already turning on its accompanying series.

Per the report, Smiley’s narrative is described as a “taut novelistic rendering of the final months in the life of the iconic pop star, chronicling his constant hunt for privacy in a life that was more public than almost any other, and the pressures he endured as someone whose fame made him socially fragile and almost unable to live.”

As at writing, no word on if there’s a network attached yet. However, in light of how lucrative the Michael Jackson “brand” still is, it wouldn’t be surprising if this (assuming it’s done “right”) became the subject of a bidding war.

One benefit it already has over past efforts (shudders at thought of Flex Alexander‘s ‘Man In The Mirror’) is that its focus on Jackson’s final days should mean there won’t be much back and forth about music rights. The book claims to hone in on the last 19 weeks of Michael’s life. A point notable because, besides the ‘This Is It’ rehearsals, there sadly was a lot else going on behind the scenes.

We’ll be watching closely to see how this plays out.

The man in the mirror with flex was just horride, made no sense why “Micheals” skin hit every shade of white there is on the color wheel:/

He had vitiligo, but the people think the doctors he “trusted” actually injected him to rush the process and make his whole body flip. Think about it there are usually stages in vitiligo, Michael went from mild vitiligo to his whole skin turning white no patches.

They need to let Michael rest for God sake. All the man ever wanted was to be left alone. Honestly he speaks thru his music. This is just another disgrace attempt of making $$ off his image/brand alone. Top of that smh they are already thinking about doing a hologram tour just like Whitney n Billie Hoilday, all whom were crucified through the evil that is the media, now they ugly asses wanna show love while their gone?!. Those holograms will not give me life like Mike n Nippy performances through 80s,90s, oos

Honestly, there’s no win in a situation like MJ’s. You can’t keep a good black man down, they can’t and will never let his poor soul rest in peace once and for all, and they sure as hell won’t stop marketing the crap out of him to make as much money from his “leftovers” as they can. It’s sad to watch this happen and know that you can’t do anything about because it’s legal. It’s tired and I know the poor guy is still rolling in his grave, although he’s smiling because his sister returned.

To be completely honest, I’m SURE they will try that mess with Mariah and Janet when her time comes too. It’s a shame and nothing less.

I don’t like this. Why make a tv series about someone’s final days. That’s tacky, no matter if it’s about a famous person or not. He also has children that might be sad to be reminded about this. Just let him rest in peace. RIP will always love you MJ.
