Kylie Jenner‘s no stranger to accusations of cultural appropriation over the years, but even some of her staunchest defenders thought she took it too far after she reportedly took to Instagram recently to share a photo that was posted with the caption “brown skinned girl” (a reference to the popular Beyoncé song from her 2019 ‘Lion King: The Gift’ album).

As the criticism rolled in, the ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star took to the outlet to clap back and confirm it was indeed fake.

Like many, Jason Derulo had high hopes for ‘Cats’ – not least because he starred in the film as Rum Tum Tugger.

However, what was intended to be a blockbuster ended up as a box office catastrophe.

The 2019 flick, which co-starred Taylor Swift and boasted a budget of over $100 million, bombed at the box office after generating just $75 million at the US box office. It also didn’t fare well internationally.

Much of the blowback centered on the poor CGI (which, in an unprecedented move, had to be updated post-release).

Months removed from the chaos, Derulo is reflecting on the film.

Serving as his first role, he explained that he thought the Tom Hooper production “was gonna change the world.”

Decades later, that same material is landing the 65-year-old in hot water as clips from a 1998 stand-up gig saw the award-winning comic refer to Pop icon Mariah Carey as the ‘N-word.’
