Caitlyn Jenner’s story came out almost simultaneously with mine in 2015, so there was kind of this comparison. What’s not similar is the stigma right now. There was stigma in the past for sure, and that still perpetuates . . . but there’s more stigma for race fluidity than gender fluidity right now, and I don’t think anybody would deny that. There was a time when we did call transgender, and even gay and bisexual, people crazy — with mental health issues and all these clinical terms — just stigmatized and rejected [them].

Is it hypocritical of society to praise trans men and women for becoming who they want to be only to mock the likes of Rachel for doing the same?

Now that gender is based on how somebody “identifies” or “feels,” then expect other “social constructs” (like race) to follow. Jenner can’t be embraced and often protected from ridicule if Dolezal can’t be rewarded the same consideration – despite suffering from a similar delusion of self. For some reason, people do this all the time. I have seen black people who say they aren’t black and they are white. People of all colors have been ditching there roots for years. Back in high school if you were white and acted black, then people including blacks would say your black and vice versa. I don’t know why you would want to claim something else but whatever I guess. If gender is just a construct why do trans people spend so much money on reversing nature. Being a man isn’t a construct or an opinion, it’s a fact. Same goes for being a woman.
