Radio Host Claps Back At Mo’Nique After Being Slammed On Her Own Show

Published: Sunday 18th Feb 2018 by Sam

The fallout from Mo’Nique‘s Netflix boycott continues.

As widely reported, the comedian called for fans to cancel their subscriptions to the streaming service after she received what she deemed a disrespectful offer for a stand-up special. She specifically pointed to gender and race bias when relaying the disparity between her proposed $500,000 pay-packet and the multi-millions offered to Amy Schumer, Dave Chapelle and Chris Rock.

In the weeks since, the Oscar winner has gone on a press tour justifying her claims – sometimes with tense results.

Case in point her interview on the Sana G Morning Show.

“Hey Loves, join us” after the jump where the tea is poured…

During the sit-down Mo, when talking about respect, Mo’ clashed with host Sana after claiming that she felt disrespected…

Now Sana and co are clapping back.

Here’s what they had to say today about what transpired pre, post, and during the interview…

Yikes.

Whichever side one sits on as regards the “Mo’Nique” debate, surely it’s safe to say that the whole episode has not been a good look for her.

Depending on one’s stance, she’s now become meme fodder or (at best) a sacrificial lamb for an important cause (but one that’s now mute in the midst of the madness).

Sigh.

So Sana want to clap back after the fact. Monique address Sana unprofessionalism and Sana was quiet like a coward. If she had a problem with Monique she could have address it face to face or articulate her concerns with Monique. However, Monique is right you should always be professional and speak to guest regardless of differences and affiliations especially if you invite the guest.

Exactly. You can tell in the original interview that this Sana G woman had an attitude the entire interview. I’m surprised this radio show is named after her because she sat there like a frustrated intern or bored fill-in. The radio show, and some on social media, have tried to spin this moment and paint it as Monique being an “angry black woman.” Monique wasn’t angry at all during the interview. She calmly explained her valid point for the 1,000th time to people that clearly weren’t receptive to her from the beginning. Why even interview her if you’re just going to be rude and dismiss her opinion? Even the other male radio host tried to invalidate her, only to end up looking stupid and speechless at the end.

        I agree.

I agree. As a former journalist, it’s your JOB to be professional at all times. You’re doing the interview (whether you had a flight or your dog died that morning) and you will be 100% professional throughout—or else DON’T DO THE INTERVIEW. Running down your guest on the same show the next day is tacky and classless. I’m with Monique on this one.

      I definitely agree

Whether Mo was right, this kinda of mess further cements her fate in Hollywood. Now, she is burying herself in the chitlin’. The woman needs to take a break and reinvent herself.

Bullsh*t. She’s willing to sacrifice to get what she deserves and encourage other black women to do the same. DeRay Davis was paid millions. I don’t think this is about Monique personally. It’s about pay inequality and how far it reaches. We should be supporting her rather than telling her she isn’t worth what she’s asking for. This is a common trend in our community. Smh.

Tired of this Mo’Nique hoopla! Enuf iz enuf! Just keep it movin’ already!

  5. MUSICHEAD February 18, 2018

Sana has a bad attitude and Monique was right to call her out.

Both women needed to take a step back, but when you know you’re already not in the best mood, you have to recenter yourself and be extra careful what you say and what you do or don’t do if you want to keep the peace. Speaking of professionalism, it was not at all professional to bring up the issue on air.

Naw cheep Angela Yee, I seen the unedited video weeks ago, and Monique and homeboy was having a great funny Black conversation and Angela Who came in rude with Let’s Talk About Netflix. Mo addressed her and went back to the conversation. Watch the full video, not the edited Instagram one.

And Fake Angie was quite, yet now on some different energy when Mo isn’t in the room.

      This.

I agree with Monique here. Sona is wrong.
