Let’s hear it for the girls!
After watching Channing Tatum nab the role of Gambit in ‘X-Men Apocalypse’ , Sony Pictures have announced that they are to release an all female superhero movie, calling on some of Fantasy’s most bodacious babes to rock many a moviegoers mind worldwide.
Exciting news below…
Set for a 2017 release, the lady-led movie will serve as a ‘Spiderman‘ spinoff piece, featuring a line-up pulled from the character’s universe, set to include Spider-Woman, Black Cat, Silver Sable and Stunner, who was first introduced to the universe in 1995.
On the news, one insider reveals:
What other movies we could do was something everyone started talking about when shooting the last movie. With Salt, Wanted and Lucy, there is a huge appetite for this right now. The one thing you can’t ignore is the fans. There was a rejection going on with having another Spider-Man come out so soon, and you have to listen to the fans in this world. We all took a good look in the mirror and said, we have to try to have to figure it out and revamp it.
On the characters set to star in the movie, ‘Deadline’ explains:
Spider-Woman is known in the comics as Charlotte Witter, a fashion designer who is genetically altered by Dr. Octopus. Silver Sable has virtually no superhuman powers but is an adept fighter, skilled in martial arts and sword play who wears a lot of techno gizmo weaponry. Black Cat was introduced in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 as Felicia, Harry Osborn’s assistant, and was played by Felicity Jones; she is also a trained fighter and acrobat. Stunner was a video store clerk who ended up getting a makeover by Dr. Octopus to make her a powerful evil.

meh I Iike the idea but Sony only superhero property is Marvel’s spiderman universe I rather see Fox that own the marvel’s X men do it with mystique and storm or DC and WarnerBros to finally give us a wonder women stand alone those girls from the spiderman universe are just not iconic enough but hopefully it will do well at the box office so that It will become a trend
Well Wonder Woman will be getting the big screen treatment in Superman vs. Batman, and I believe she is going to have a spin-off. So that’s something. But I totally agree, I would rather see more of the X-men/Marvel universe she-heroes get the big screen treatment…but I’ve always loved me some Black Cat.
