BET is on a roll!

After thrilling with news that their next year’s programming lineup will feature shows starring Grammy winners Kelly Rowland and Brandy, now fans will have even more to look forward to as reports indicate the #1 Urban network is set to revive MTV’s hit series ‘Punk’d.’

Skyrocketing to fame upon its early 2000s debut, the celebrity prank show listed everyone from Brandy and Kelly Rowland to Beyonce, Britney Spears, and Justin Timberlake among its victims.  Now, as newly surfaced reports show, they and today’s top crop of stars are once again targets at risk…of getting Punkd!

Via THR:

“BET is digging into the Viacom vaults for one of its new series. The cable network announced Thursday that it’s reviving MTV prank show Punk’d as one of its seven new show orders.

Though no talent was announced for the deal — the original Punk’d maestro was Ashton Kutcher — the network’s upfront slate announced the new version would be “tailored” for the BET audience and would include a behind-the-scenes look at how the celebrity pranks are conceptualized and carried through.”

    This is not good news….
The same company named “Viacom” is full of white people right now that are controlling the BET Network shows. There is a reason why BET 106 & Park ended and it’s because they wanted to do the same thing that they did with MTV and that’s BRAND the network as a reality tv show channel. So expect less music and more reality tv shows coming. SAD!

And I never understood why STANS on here feel like calling BET, “EBT” when their responsible for launching all y’all faves career and giving them a platform before the other white networks would. Let’s please remember that.

Well something needed to change. This last season of the Game came and went and nobody knew. The days of Music video countdown shows are history. Sad but nobody’s watching BET anymore. While I don’t care much for Punk’d, I do think that BET needs to be revamped and unfortunately they don’t have the same viewers they had in the early 2000’s. Those viewers are now watching Vh1 and everything else that is ratchet tv.

BET be creative. Sick of you only picking up others passed on shows. This network has gone down the sh!tter since my youth.

I mean what original programming do they have? Let alone any programming aside from the repeats of movies and Scandal do they have? The Game (from CW/UPN), Nellyville, Keyshia Cole show, Real Husbands, and isn’t that it? Regardless LONG ago are the days when one could watch BET from 9/10am to 8/9pm. Rap City, Cita’s World, Comic View (classic version), Access Granted, Hell Date, NYLA, 106 & Park, T*** Summit, etc. Hell even BET Nightly News. Terrible what they’ve become.
