The comedic medical crime drama about a world renowned doctor (portrayed by Dick Van Dyke) who, with the help of his son (a detective) and his team of medical experts, solve deadly crimes.

It took 178 well-received episodes spread out over eight seasons to complete its story much to the surprise of TV insiders who expected it to receive its marching orders after its first season struggled to secure major ratings.

How it overcame its brief yet undeniably problematic numbers issue?

Storylines fronted by Dyke and the African-American actresses Victoria Rowell and Delores Hall whose performances went a long way to turn the series into a staple in many a 90s TV lovers entertainment diet.
