Mariah Carey‘s new (and arguably improved) camp are riding high on a festive wave this morning now the viewing figures from her Christmas specials on Hallmark have surfaced online.

Keen to milk and make the most out of her iconic number ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ the performer teamed up with the platform to create two Christmas specials.

How they fared?

‘TV By The Numbers’ reveals:

It was a pretty soft Saturday on cable, with no program crossing the 1.0 barrier in adults 18-49. An airing of “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” on ABC Family led the day with a 0.9.“A Christmas Melody,” the Hallmark Channel movie directed by and co-starring Mariah Carey, was the most watched cable show of the day with 3.95 million viewers and a 0.6 in 18-49.

Yes, 3.95 million TV lovers tuned in to catch Mariah in dramatic action seeing her work nothing short of a miracle for Hallmark before the release of her hotly-anticipated new LP and the European tour she has launched to support it.

Elsewhere, the Nigerian actor John Boyega continues to ascend to Hollywood’s commercial heavens after leading ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens‘ to a record that’s unlikely to be matched or broken anytime soon.

For, the movie has now scored the highest three-day gross at a single U.S. location after picking up $715, 010 at Pacific’s Arclight Hollywood.

Credited for pulling younger audiences into theatres to catch the movie Boyega’s portrayal of the character Finn (when coupled with performances put on by Harrison Ford, Daisy Ridley, Lupita Nyong’o and Adam Driver) is also to thank for the movie’s success internationally.

Variety adds:

Over the weekend, the sci-fi epic shattered records with a $248 million domestic debut and a $529 million global launch, topping this summer’s “Jurassic World” ($208.8 million domestic, $524.9 million worldwide).

And he Didn’t have to degrade himself to do it! I watched the movie and he was so impressive and I teared up thinking about what he was doing for the representation of black men on film. God bless him.

Hmm difference is those million sof viewers tuned to see MARIAH.
Star Wars doing great has nothing to do with this actor. Big difference. Not an accurate way to write an article.
