LeBron James Talks ‘Space Jam 2

NBA superstar LeBron James has set his sights on the lead role in the sequel to the 1996 movie ‘Space Jam.’

The original starred the basketball player Michael Jordan and may be followed by a LeBron-led sequel after he signed a deal with Warner Bros which just so happens to be where ‘Space’ calls home.

He was asked to share his thoughts on the movie by ‘Today’ and has this to say when quizzed on the chances of there being a sequel with him in it:

We hope so. We’re definitely missing Bugs and Daffy and Tasmanian Devil and every last one of them, so hopefully we can do some great things.

James has  big shoes to fill if he’s to take on the role as Jordan was responsible for making it the highest-grossing basketball movie of all time after it pulled in $230 million worldwide.

‘Straight Outta Compton’ Goes Straight To the Top At the US Box Office

Success is in Dr. Dre‘s DNA.

Don’t believe us? Just watch the numbers being swept up by his brand new movie ‘Straight Outta Compton.’

The release has pulled in $24. 3 million at the Box Office on the first day of its release and is set to close the weekend with $59 million to its name as its supporting soundtrack makes its way to the Billboard 200’s Top Five next week.

Deadline adds:

Rentrak’s PostTrak reports that audiences gave the Universal/Legendary title a 5 out of 5 stars which is largely unheard of for their polls; typically the best films coming out of PostTrak land 4 or 4.5 stars. And not just guys, but women are giving the F. Gary Gray-directed biopic a respective 74% and 76% definite recommend – very high marks per Rentrak. 38% of those watching Compton came out because of the subject matter and the plot. CinemaScore is a resounding A. Given Compton’s fast-beat rhythm this weekend, Uni is officially launching an Oscar campaign for the film and will start Academy screenings today.

I just saw it. It was so good. So glad it wasn’t butchered which is what happens with most biopics, but that’s how it goes when the artists who actually lived it aren’t involved. Like the tlc biopic. That was good. Then you have biopics like the Aaliyah one…

Straight Outta Compton was awesome. I highly recommend the film. The casting for Ice Cube, Eazy-E, Suge Knight, 2pac, and The DOC was spot on. The movie brought back a flood of memories. In addition to telling the story of Dre/Cube/Eazy, the movie perfectly captured the spirit of the late 80s and early 90s.
