Fans of the ‘Crossroads’ creative will know that she recently inked a deal with ABC which sees her required to develop a number of TV shows for them via her ‘Shondaland’ production company.
The handsome sum she was offered to agree to the deal’s terms was paid with the success of her shows ‘Scandal’ and ‘Murder’ in mind and now-before these shows return for their respective new seasons this year- Rhimes has announced that she’s hard at work on a brand new project.
Its name?
Splitsville.
The comedy follows the lives of a group of singletons living in a suburban cul-de-sac forced to raise to rase their kids together as they pick up the pieces left in the wake of insane divorces.
A premiere date is yet to be set but any interested in the series will be pleased to learn that each episode will last half an hour and is also being crafted by Rhimes’ longtime collaborator Betsy Beers with whom she continues to captivate viewers with on ‘Greys Anatomy.’
Shonda isn’t the only artist with good news to celebrate today.
Who else is “winning” on a TV & Film front?
Beyonce‘s dancers.
The upcoming documentary feature, “The Clip – All My Love, Beyoncé,” follows Pantsula dancers Mario Buce and Xavier Campione (they perform as WTOFO) who were hired to perform at a wedding in Mozambique, having absolutely no idea that their performance would turn up on YouTube where Beyoncé would watch them, and eventually arrange to have them come to Los Angeles, where they would teach her their moves, and would eventually show up in one of her videos, performing those moves.
They appeared in maybe one of the most talked about dance sequences in the video for Beyoncé’s single, “Run the World (Girls),” from her 4th studio album, “4,” released in 2011, and have also performed on stage with her while on tour.
Directed by Swedish filmmaker, Victor Nordenskiöld, “The Clip” is currently in post-production, and has been picked up by Sweden’s national broadcaster, SVT, adding the film to its line-up of documentary offerings with international appeal.
‘Beyonce’ is yet to find a home in the U.S. but some industry experts predict it may be picked up by HBO or Showtime.
Your thoughts?
this documentary opportunity may have never happened
if Theifonce wasn’t caught stealing.
I once watched a video clip posted on this site?
where Yawnce threatens to fire one of her workers on stage.
How come she never fire the one’s who steal other peoples work for her off the internet?
I’m not interested in any of Shonda’s shows revolving around romance. Her idea of relationships are
TOXIC. The only reason most people watch those other shows is because in spite of the TOXIC romantic relationships you have murder mysteries, legal cases and other things non related to the toxic romantic relationships.
I don’t suspect this third show would do to well.
Lol. For all of those salty people who are about to attack Bey for plagiarism… Please remember that this will simply be a rehash of Beyonce:Year of 4 on her YouTube.Lol.
