Social Media Strikes Back At Racism With The #KeatonChallenge

Published: Thursday 14th Dec 2017 by David

Heart strings were tugged around the world when a video of a young man named Keaton Jones detailing the bullying he claimed to be facing was placed online by his mother Kimberly.

Keen to support the him, thousands donated to a GoFundMe page launched to offer his family financial support with hopes it would ease his pain and perpetual sorrow.

Then something interesting happened.

Members of the Twitter community Black Twitter did a little digging into the family they had donated close to $70,000 to and discovered that Keaton and his mother came from what appeared to be a family of White Supremacists, and that his father is a member of a prison gang named the Aryan Circle.

With this, GoFundMe was forced to block Camp Keaton from receiving any of the money they had hope to bag.

How social media has responded to the news?

With comedy.

The Keaton challenge below….

What Keaton’s clan has to say in response to claims they were wildly vicious racists?

What do you make of social media’s response to this story?

    There is nothing funny about adults making fun of a child, it’s not his fault that his parents are white supremacists, disgusting behavior.

    • Melanin Mandy December 14, 2017

      You want them to sympathise with him but does Keaton’s mom sympathise with the slain black teens she mocked when she mocked Kaepernick’s kneeling? Black people are tired of having to take the moral high ground when it comes to racism because kindness and forgiveness expected from us is never extended to us. Therefore…ha ha.

      • Blessed December 14, 2017

        Exactly! Ha ha all the way. Fk them.

      • S****** Blonde December 14, 2017

        @Melanin Mandy
        Attack his mother all you want, but don’t come for the kid, it’s just wrong, that’s all.

    • Meme December 14, 2017

      You’re right but this is exactly how kids grow up to be racist adults. There’s no doubt in my mind that this little kid hates blacks, it’s a learnt behavior.

      I don’t agree with them making fun of the kid but I def have no problem with them making a mockery of the situation because that’s what they get.

      • VElvet Rope December 14, 2017

        He’s going to be racist because his parents are not because black people (who mind you were the main people supporting him) are teasing him online . I’m so tired of people trying to put the responsibility of killing racism on the people who are actually killed by it. You wouldn’t allow a homophobe to be homophobic just because they were teased by gays in the past so why should black people be any different?

      • S****** Blonde December 14, 2017

        @Meme
        My only problem is that they shouldn’t come for the kid, that’s what he is, a kid, it’s wrong, period.

      • Hmmm December 14, 2017

        Yup, my agenda is calling your a** out on the racist overtones that permeate 99% of your comments on this blog.

    • Hmmm December 14, 2017

      STFU. You’re quick to label Black Twitter’s comedic response to the situation as “disgusting behavior,” but you’re silent on the actions of this kid’s white supremacist parents? Isn’t that disgusting behavior as well?

      • Shame December 14, 2017

        Exactly!! Notice how the people upset with this aren’t even talking about the fact that his dad is part of a white suprematist gang that is wanted by the FBI. It shows that a lot of white people are unfazed by white supremacy.

      • S****** Blonde December 14, 2017

        @Hmmm
        I’m not silent about anything, I clearly said in my comment that his parents are white supremacists, you only see what you want to see.

      • Hmmm December 14, 2017

        @S******

        Please…You might fool some people on this blog, but not me. Your statement was a condemnation of Black Twitter. Simply stating what his parents are (i.e. “white supremacists”) is not a condemnation of their behavior. Try again.

      • S****** Blonde December 14, 2017

        You are clearly on an agenda, I don’t support white supremacists or Afrocentrics for that matter, wherever you believe that or not, it’s up to you, I honestly don’t care what people think of me on the web.

  2. Shame December 14, 2017

    Let’s not forget that the black community helped this go viral. This response is warranted because they almost put money in the pockets of a family who support the abuse we face. The dad is literally part of a white supremacy gang? This is too much. That little boy should Blame his parents for this mess. #Lol

    • XYZ December 14, 2017

      Still not the kids fault. Besides that, I don’t know why y‘all are throwing money after a bullied kid. What for? So he can be a nice car to not get bullied again?

  3. Ughhhh December 14, 2017

    Regardless of his mother’s actions. Keaton is still being bullied, which isn’t okay and could possible stir him in a direction to harm himself or others. As for the money, people should be more careful where they decide to throw their money, but don’t punish this boy for his mom’s actions

  4. Achooo! December 14, 2017

    We don’t care about racist baby shrek!

  5. China December 14, 2017

    Hope they beat his racist little ass err day

  6. Trose December 14, 2017

    Guys this is the thing it’s still a child.Nobody should be bullied. Racism is a learnt behavior so because his parents are ignorant fools and he only followed with what they taught him he deserves to bullied for the rest of his life? They don’t deserve the $$$ but the mom should have never posted the video because now he has to pay for her ignorance which is sad.

  7. Kimbella December 14, 2017

    I don’t feel bad for racist

  8. Paulo December 14, 2017

    “A kid should not be bullied regardless” that would be cute and so if it wasn’t for the fact that this ugly was troll baby was actually bullied for picking on black kids. So there ya go. F*** Suicidal Ho and his flawed logic

    • Paulo December 14, 2017

      Ugly ass***

  9. XYZ December 14, 2017

    So they are now going after the kid, instead of the mother. Wow, you‘re great. Very good people, hope you‘re proud of yourselves.

  10. XYZ December 14, 2017

    But there your are with your hypocrisy. Should a black child be put in child cause of his gangsta father? According to your logic, it should. The kid is to blame for the behavior of the parents, so the cops are right to judge all black people? Y‘all are s***. Seriously. Y‘all are human s***.

    • Fifi December 15, 2017

      Define gangsta please? Then, please explain how being a “gangsta” equates to being part of a group which has been torturing and murdering human beings for decades.

  11. Jamie December 14, 2017

    If he ugly, he ugly. TF

  12. KingB? December 14, 2017

    #allimsaying if GoFundMe doesn’t cough up the coins, best believe one of them if not all, are going on a killing spree

  13. Slick December 14, 2017

    I’m sorry its hard for me to care about the kid when I know the parents are responsible for the hate color kids are getting due to people like them. Kids tend to repeat what their parents say and do.I doubt this kid is any different. As for the gofund me, STOP it they don’t need any effen money .

    • Jamie December 14, 2017

      Thank you! Very well-said!

  14. KING B!! December 18, 2017
