There may be trouble ahead for ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ on a ratings front.

Why NeNe Leakes‘ departure may be to blame for the numbers its season eight premiere pulled in on Sunday evening?

Details below…

In 2014 the series’ seventh season swept up a Bravo-pleasing 3.8 million viewers during its premiere episode on November 9th of that year.

Alas, after moves made by cast members Cynthia Bailey, Kenya Moore and Claudia Jordan against cast mate Phaedra Parks saw the show face claims it had taken a darker tone, its season eight premiere numbers seem to paint a negative picture of what is to come on a ratings tip.

Almost one million viewers who tuned in to catch last year’s season premiere decided to stay away from this year’s leaving the show with 2.968 million viewers at its door when it aired.

Perhaps uninterested in the show’s concept with the aforementioned Leaks out of the picture TV lovers decided to support AMC’s ‘Walking Dead’ and helped that show to pick up 12,440,000 million screens when it was showcased at 9 p.m. on the same night.

Could NeNe‘s confirmed comeback rescue Kenya and company should things deteriorate?

Seeing a bunch of Old Black women tearing each other down is not my idea of a good time.

    Washed up hood-rats.

    • Janet Fevah November 10, 2015

You clearly don’t watch the show if you think that’s all they do.

    • pon_de November 10, 2015

You complain about seeing folks tearing each other down then call them hoodrats… Irony Von Late your seat is ready

        This!!

      • Lisa0954 November 10, 2015

Of course the ANGRY GAY_S love bad behavior, trashy clothes, implants but it does not make their behavior appropriate.

        They are hateful and shameful

    • You tried November 10, 2015

      @MIA Have a seat! Please !
Every reality show is one in the same BLACK WHITE ASIAN MIDGETS AND ALL! bye
OAN! I’m not surprised about the ratings! I watched actually and it didn’t make me want to bite my nails until next episode ! It was entertaining but a little forced! Especially with the biggest topic of the show being about (boring) Cynthia and her boring marriage !

    • Lisa0954 November 10, 2015

They are an embarrassment to the black race; ya’ll don’t see the big picture. White men don’t want to hire women of color because of the way these shows depict people of color

      • M November 11, 2015

Why are a group of black women representative of an entire race of people. We have been conditioned to believe that we have to prove ourselves as civilised and humane to a system that’s uncivilised and inhumane to us. By the way, if we judged people based on the actions of people in their race I think you’d see that White people are the ones who have something to prove. Let’s acknowledge the diversity Among us and realise that we are just as diverse as any other race. For every Nice white boy there is an evil one and for every good black boy there is a bad one. Step out of your self hatred and see that.

      • MIA November 11, 2015

If you think its ok for 40 year old black women to destroy peoples charity events, throw drinks on each other, pull each other’s weave out and showcase bad behavior.

THEN YOUR A PROBLEM TOO harpo.

This Article is very dramatic. Those ratings are fine.

    • Ariana’s Grand November 10, 2015

Losing a million viewers is never fine.

      • When Rihsus Says Yes… November 11, 2015

Much like Ariana never sold a million copies of an album in the United States…

I stopped watching after the season Phaedra kept referring to Kenya as Kenya Moore W*. I don’t know. That just did something to me. Quite enough really to take me right out any interest whatsoever in watching to show anymore. Especially, after we saw footage of Apollo talking all kinds of crazy to Phaedra and she barely said a word to him about it, and he seemed completely unbothered by doing it. It was just crazy seeing Phaedra talk tough as a bulldog to Kenya in public while her husband was treating her like a dog in private. And there were so many rumors of Apollo actually cheating, with pics of girls out and about, and she never said anything about that. I don’t know. I guess I’m just not here for the fierce, but fake, public face (while the private one has mud all over it), the s***-shaming, and the barrage of 50/11 hustles that’s pushed on us when at no other time we could care less to check for them. I did hear about Kenya’s new house though, so I might check in to see it. But’ I’d be just as happy with pics on the internet too. Whatevs.

    • Janet Fevah November 10, 2015

Are you forgetting that Kenya tried to sleep with her husband and that nobody believes Apollo when he said he lied about it? Or the fact that Walter admitted that he and Kenya faked their relationship? Please stop. Phaedra only said what she said in response to what was done to her.

    • Back 2 Bey November 10, 2015

the only people that like Kenya are people with short term memory. Apollo was telling the truth when he said she tried to sleep with him and nobody, absolutely nobody, believes that scene she put together to vindicate herself. By the way, if Todd knew Phaedra owed him money why was he ok with hanging out with her husband? He seems like a coward if you ask me. Phaedra and Apollo did the tape together yet he only points the finger at Phaedra when it’s time to discuss money. Sell one of Apollos bikes if you need the cash that bad gold digger.

The ratings were going down for the past three seasons. And oh! Nene was on those seasons. Nene doesn’t make a TV show. If show “Glee” and “The New Normal” would not have been canceled. BLOOP!

    • Back 2 Bey November 10, 2015

Let’s not. That’s like Nicole wasn’t to thank for PCDs success because she flopped when she went solo. They lost almost a million viewers after Nene left and that is all people are thinking about now. Carlos’ embarrassing activity on Hollywood divas can’t have helped the shows credibility either.

      • When Rihsus Says Yes… November 11, 2015

Of course, reading comprehension is never a strong suit for a Beyonce fan. Back 2 Nene, girl. This post has nothing to do with the music industry or Carlos King. This blog post was about Nene. Step your püssy up and learn to comprehend.

People are tired of seeing a bunch of “grown” and “classy” Black women, and Porsha Williams, act like hair-hatted hooligans.

  6. J is for Justin November 10, 2015

There are two problems. Kenya’s dark energy and Carlos “Copyright Infringement” King.

    • When Rihsus Says Yes… November 11, 2015

Here’s a greater problem. Stabbing for the most basic pop singer in the universe: Justin (Bieber or Timberlake doesn’t matter).

  7. What now November 10, 2015

Ppl r getting tired of the show. I turned it of and started watching The Walking Dead while it was recording. The entire RH franchise r tired af

  8. rellz November 10, 2015

even at 2.8 its most watched show on bravo oc beverly hills and ny struggle to get over 1.5 million

    • Janet1814 November 10, 2015

It’s only the most watched because it has the coveted Sunday night slot. Replace it with one of the other franchise and they’d pick up similar numbers.

      • M November 11, 2015

No dear. The other franchises would tank because they aren’t as goods.

  9. Stina November 10, 2015

….but new Walking Dead episodes don’t come on at the same time as Real Housewives. WD is on at 9 and RHOA is on at 8 so that excuse doesn’t work.

  10. @JanetCIARA_ November 10, 2015

Who cares, the ratings will most likely pick up…. Nene didnt have that much power, they were just paying her larger checks to act like she better than everyone on the show…
I didnt miss her at OIL!

  11. Kayla C November 11, 2015

Notice how one person says something, then everyone suddenly feels the same way. Shut the f*** up…

  12. Gee November 11, 2015

Not surprising other than the return of Sheree nothing about this episode was special.

  13. Gee November 11, 2015

Also executive producer Carlos King is very messy and people are getting hip to he and Andy’s antics and it is turning viewers off.

  14. Anne November 11, 2015

I am one of the lost viewer. I’ve had enough of the bickering and fighting. Too much negativity. When it was new it was train wreck -interesting but I’m over that. Not my idea of fun. Most people turn away from a train wreck eventually.

  15. Pope November 11, 2015

the fvck I should care about the ratings? I like this show, it’s my guilty pleasure.

  16. Distinguished November 11, 2015

Keep in mind that last season piggy-backed off of the dramatic reunion with Kenya and Porsha. A lot of people returned to see what would happen next. Nene really didn’t do much for the show her last 2 seasons.

  17. Tara Noble November 11, 2015

When Phaedra turned on Kandi cause as she didn’t run fast enuff the hell with them pretty but s*****.
