While a few months remain before it becomes apparent which TV titles are being renewed or cancelled, networks are beginning to spill on which new shows they’re picking up from the pilot pool.

For fans of ‘Scandal’ creator Shonda Rhimes it’s good news. Because the creative force continues to win favour from bosses at ABC. The network, which also houses Rhimes’ ‘How To Get Away With Murder’ and ‘Greys Anatomy’, have announced that they’ve ordered a pilot run of her newest series ‘The Catch’.

Details on the show, as well as confirmation of a ‘Rush Hour’ series, await below…

According to Digital Spy, Rhimes and Betsy Beers will helm crime thriller ‘Catch’, which tells the story of a female forensic accountant whose career expertise is exposing fraud for a living.

Like the leading ladies in Shonda’s other dramas, the woman at the forefront of the show has quite the complicated life herself – especially in the romance department.

Unbeknownst to her, the man she is set to marry is planning to con her. Calamity ensues when her lies end up colliding with his cons.

Elsewhere, after much murmuring, CBS have revealed that they have picked up a ‘Rush Hour’ pilot.

Produced by ‘Cougar Town’ creators Bill Lawrence and  Blake McCormick, the TV adaptation of the 1998 movie will pull directly from the characters and themes explored in the franchise – which was fronted by Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker.

Speaking on what viewers can expect, Laurence said:

(It’s a) new plot, same characters, a little younger, a little different, fish out of water. It’s a cool script. I’m psyched about it.”

As many will recall, a trio of ‘Rush Hour’ films were released between 1998-2007 and told the tale of a by-the-book Hong Kong policeman who is partnered with a cocky local LAPD officer, who has little interest in working with a partner. {Source}

    The Catch seems interesting, Rush Hour should’ve been left in the movie franchise. I hope it won’t flop.

    I’m not too keen on the idea of an Rush Hour series, but “The Catch” sounds like a winner already. Werk Shonhova. P**** on the frontline. #WhoRunTheWorld?

    All she’s gonna do is use it to force more gay characters down peoples throats, so no thanks.

      As well as more black women being the white man’s w****, so I’ll pass too.

      I agree. Shonda Rimes’ producing style is too female/diva/gay to pull off the alpha male type of show that this should be. Chuck Lore, D*** Wolfe or Jerry Bruckheimer would be better at luring in the 18-34 beer drinking male audience for this type of show. I don’t trust her with this.

    White man w****… If she wouldve took a black president yall wouldve said she was tryna do your president dirty ( Black president on scandal = Obama = cheater and killer . cause that’s what Fitz is )And the husband in HTGAWM is a piece of s*** so I think taking white male actors to portray these is more of a way to not put down black men cause yes Viola and Kerry are also not very ” good ” women but at the end of the day in tv viewers mind they stay black powerful intelligent beautiful women .

    And I applaud her for having gay people in all of her shows . They are people too . Treating gay people like y’all do is no different than what white people use to do back in the day to blacks. It’s time to evolve

    The token queen on every show is getting old tho. Sometimes it seems like that’s the only depth they give those characters. I’m over it.
