Victoria’s Secret Models Spark Cardi B N-Word Controversy

Published: Friday 1st Dec 2017 by David

The debate on the power of the n-word and who gets to use it rages on.

Why?

This week footage of several Victoria’s Secret models rapping along to Cardi B’s ‘Bodak Yellow‘ surfaced online.

The problem with this seemingly innocent act?

The models’ decision to use the n-word as they recited the song’s lyrics.

How Twitter felt about the drama?

So, what do you think?

Is it ever alright for non-black people to use the word?

Weigh in…

Last Time I checked…Latino is a short why of saying BLACK/AFRICAN per the History books…..just saying The Indian, Spanish and African races came together on the island of Puerto Rico, contributing their blood and traditions to the formation of the Puerto Rican culture. The original inhabitants of Puerto Rico at the time of the Spanish conquest were the Taino and Carib Indian-tribes. “This is the issue with Twitter its full of Hood-rat dumb N_iggas who have ZERO education, STFU”.

First of all, the word Latino stems from LATIN AMERICA (South America). Well actually, Latin speaking countries, but that language is damn near extinct these days. Cardi is Dominican and Trinidadian, which are both located in the Caribbean along with Cuba and Puerto Rico.

Yes, them too but I was moreso referring to the Spanish speaking islands. 🙂

The Victoria Secret “fashion” show, which is famous for cultural appropriation, as every single year they literally take their basic underwear, put it in a traditional tribal print or pair it with a cultural headdress and call it “Fashion”, is flopping anyways. It’d be nice if white people were as vocal and enthusiastic about black people as they are about black culture though. You can open your mouths to sing the word n**** but let a n**** get killed in the street and you have nothing to say. I wanna say that they wouldn’t have the bwalls to do this in a room with black people or a room where they aren’t the majority, but in my experience they will definitely try you like this and then whenever you confront a white girl about her s***, she starts crying. Every. Single. Time. It’s all a part of the victim play I guess.

Cardi B is definitely half black, her mother looks like a biracial black woman and her dad looks racially ambiguous too. I will never understand why black people attack non-black people for using the N word, y’all should come for your African American artists who constantly use the word in their music, when you heard a song, especially a rap song, you learn every word and you sing along, often without thinking the meaning these words have for some black people, I say some, because clearly not every black person is educated enough to understand the impact of the usage of this word and how its continuous use effect black people in general, black artists should stop using the N word in their music, and black people should stop using it in their everyday life as well, It should become taboo to use such word, it’s the only way for non-black people to understand that if black people don’t use it, they shouldn’t neither, but how can they understand why black people complain when non-black people use the word if they heard the N word being used in literally every conversation between two young black dudes, even girls, the word is overused by black youth, it’s as common as the word Fvck is for the average American, the problem lies closer to home than most think, sorry friends, just my two cents ??‍♂️

Sorry, but I kinda agree with you. These rappers & artists are making the situation worse by continuing to use that word in their music. Its easy for them to use it because they don’t have to deal with the constant debate & struggle over the use of that word with the general public. I’m sure they fully realize that its not just black folk that listen to & buy their music; apparently they don’t care because they’re still using it. The word will go away when hip hop makes it go away by stopping the use of it.

Cardi B is Black. Her mother is Trinidadian ?? and her father is Dominican ?? Why don’t you make some searches before jumping on comments. Ignorant idiots.

They all pretty so they get a pass ,it’s really cute IMO ,the cardi impact though. That said If n**** is seen as derogatory to the black folks why then call each other that and complain when a white man does same ,does it mean y’all love being derogatory to one another ?? Even so I do not support a white man calling a black guy n***** may be if he called a fellow white man that then it’d be ok.The word should be totally done away .
