And it was well deserved. She embodies Annalise Keating when she plays her. Congratulations Viola! Truly an outstanding performance

Yes, she deserved it! It’s about time. I saw some mad faces in the crowd, but I’m sure that didn’t stop her happiness and OT only gave her an extra reason to deliver that important and unapologetic speech she performed. Hopefully, Kerry or Target will get their turns at winning next year. I shouldn’t have taken 65+ years for an African-American actress to win that category. That’s simply sad, but at least she won her first nomination and made history while doing it. Congrats to Uzo for her win too!

This made me teary-eyed ❤️. I’m so proud of Viola, Taraji, Kerry and all the other black actresses that are standing their ground and making waves in today’s television. I remember reading an interview with Kerry Washington and she was talking about the fact that girls across the world regardless of their colour were looking up to the black actresses and their characters. Girls across the globe wanted to be Olivia Pope and live her lifestyle, and that is big.. Considering the fact that growing up all I saw was ONE colour being overrepresented on television. The new generation barely even see colour anymore, and that is a beautiful thing. I’m so proud!

Beyond well deserved! And if they didn’t give it to her she still would have been the most deserving! She acts with such power and fearlessness that is very inspiring and aspiring. Love her! So glad to see she’s getting her due finally. She’s been in this business for a while, slowly and steadily rising to the top and its a beautiful thing to see.
