What does Will Smith know about art-house films deserving of festival awards? I can´t believe he shares the judge panel with Jessica Chastain and Pedro Almodovar. He only appears in blockbusters or the bad oscar-bait type of generic films that some people think are good. Is he open minded enough to begin with?

You’re such a negative Nancy. A big majority of your comments are either blatantly negative or laced with negative undertones. You just lead a very, very miserable life in the real world. Btw Will is Mariah consigned and open minded AF, playing gay roles waaaaaay before being gay in media was acceptable. You show ur ignorance

Wash your mouth before talking to me like that please. First of all I gave an opinion on how I don´t find Will Smith suitable for a festival judge panel, only that.

Secondly, I´m not negative at all, I praise talent and enjoy music and cinema more than 80% of people in blobs like this one definitely, who only live music through stan wars. Will is a telented actor. Faaaaaaaaar from the best you can get, but he´s good.

Last but not least, being open minded as a judge of art-house films is not about being ok with gays or any other theme in particular (that should be a given). It is also about the way films are made. From the roles Will normally takes I don´t see any interest in him on appearing in fresh, daring and complicated films. It´s just a reality, it´s not debatable (my beloved Mariah doesn´t seem to be too interested in art-house films either so I don´t know why you brought ehr into this anyway).

Now out of curiosity, in which film has Will played a gay man? Russell Crow also played gay in a very cute film from the 90s before he was known worldwide… but guess what, he never ever took on a “risky” role ever again. He has had a Will Smith type of career in that sense. They are not Jake Gyllenhaal or Michael Fassbender type of actors in the type of careers they persue let´s just say 🙂

@JOHNVIDAL: Will Smith played a gay character in Six Degrees of Separation.

Take off all 10lbs of make up on her face and you’ll see the rue effects of stress, age, and cigarettes.
