Fans of Fox hit ‘Empire’ have ample cause to celebrate today.

For, the network have just announced the Lee Daniels music drama has been renewed for the 2017/2018 TV season.

While ratings for the show’s current third season have struggled to reach the high’s of earlier outings, ‘Empire’ has proven to be a consistent performer for FOX. What’s more, with it remaining the top drama (on all networks) in its Wednesday primetime slot, its renewal seemed more “when” than “if.”

Currently in the midst of a mid-season hiatus until March, its spot is being warmed by another music drama – ‘STAR’ – which is also a Lee Daniels production.

Great news! I have really enjoyed this 3rd season. Lee clearly learned his lesson about less being more. He has put the focus back of the main characters (which were the winning formula the show to begin with).

To think Waka Waka sold 10 million digital sales and loca five bit among the top 100 selling singles of all time. Yet these ghetto hoodrats want to come for shakers.

Empire is poorly written, terribly directed and focuses on rapid storylines that do nothing to fully engage the audience. The show is overall HORRIBLE and only still on air because of limited options on Wednesday nights for the black viewing audience.

Despite Lee Daniels’ uneducated & ignorant comments to black actors, congrats still to the “Empire’ cast.

Not surprised, the show is still popular however it lost its spark. I only watch this to support Taraji.
