Woman Responsible For Emmett Till’s Death: “I Lied”

Published: Friday 27th Jan 2017 by David

In 1955, a group of white men burst into the home of 14-year-old Emmett Till, kidnapped him, tortured, mutilated and shot him and dumped him in the Tallahatchie River.

His “crime”?

Threatening a woman named Carolyn Bryant Donham.

This year, long after his murderers were found Not Guilty and the passing of his mother (above), Donham has something to confess.

“I made it up.”

In a new book named ‘The Blood of Emmett Till‘ out next week, author Timothy Tyson reveals that he engaged in a conversation with Carolyn about Till’s murder in 2002.

Much to his surprise, the now elderly woman (who has been married twice since her relatives slaughtered the teenage boy) had this to say when she was asked about she had accused him of doing to her.

That part’s not true.

Yes, the 82-year old now claims that the incident in which she claimed saw Till make lewd remarks towards her and threaten her safety was a lie.

‘Vanity Fair’ adds:

As for the rest of what happened that evening in the country store, she said she couldn’t remember. She reflective in Timothy Tyson’s presence, wistfully volunteering, “Nothing that boy did could ever justify what happened to him.”

There’s more.

She also admitted she “felt tender sorrow,” Tyson would note, “for Mamie Till-Mobley”—Emmett Till’s mother, who died in 2003 after a lifetime spent crusading for civil rights. (She had bravely insisted that her son’s casket remain open at his funeral in order to show America what had been done to him.) “When Carolyn herself [later] lost one of her sons, she thought about the grief that Mamie must have felt and grieved all the more.”

She is now in hiding.

Actually I would use “there is”‘, in this sentence. The apostrophe is not required for that use of sentence.

White people need to really think twice when they say racism is dead. It literally isn’t when you realise that people in their 30s and 40s have grandparents who engaged in this kind of Act. I am sickened and wish nothing but suffering on she and her family. May they suffer for what they did to that innocent child.

  5. #ispeakfacts January 27, 2017

    I have no words!

  6. Live January 27, 2017

And they wonder why we don’t trust them? This happened in my grandparents’ lifetime and they spend so much time acting Ike racism ended the second they were forced to abolish slavery. This makes me think of the Lena Dunham and Odell drama. We should start a petition to have this old witch prosecuted for perjury.

    • (Ciaragotthatfiyah January 27, 2017

You obviously don’t know the story behind his death, so before you make yourself look more ignorant try using your friend Google

    • Starxavi January 30, 2017

That’s poor writing on the blog’s part. But to catch you up:
Emmett Till was an African-American teenager who was lynched in Mississippi at the age of 14 after reportedly flirting with a white woman.
Till was from Chicago, Illinois, and visiting relatives in Money, a small town in the Mississippi Delta region. He spoke to 21-year-old Carolyn Bryant, the married proprietor of a small grocery store there. Several nights later, Bryant’s husband Roy and his half-brother J. W. Milam went to Till’s great-uncle’s house and abducted the boy. They took him away and beat and mutilated him before shooting him and sinking his body in the Tallahatchie River. Three days later, Till’s body was discovered and retrieved from the river.

Imagine the countless other cases like this…those of which were actually taken to one’s grave. Judgement day is around the cornet.

  18. Joan January 27, 2017

Disgusting white b****. White people are pure filth!

    • blue January 28, 2017

I guess A.Lincoln was pure filth too

      • D January 28, 2017

        Yes. He owned slaves.

  19. Nate January 27, 2017

Well this wasnt the only time a white woman’s lie killed an innocent young black boy or man. To Kill A Mockingbird was about this very thing. We have these ideas about black men being super predators, when white men have been raping, stealing, and slaughtering the world this entire time.

  20. BOOBIE January 27, 2017

I want to kill this bish with my bare hands. Hateful old cun+. Rot in white hell with your funky a** racist relatives that killed that little boy for no reason.

    • blue January 28, 2017

and that makes you better than them how?

  21. Mark111 /.\ January 27, 2017

That’s ok, because this young child’s death sparked the civil rights movement. Rosa Parks said she was thinking of Emmett when she refused to move to the back of the bus. Martin was thinking of Emmett when he started his marching, So did X and a lot of people. It’s amazing how this country changed from a CHILD standing up for himself, while others were too afraid. Sadly he will never know the revolution he sparked.

    • ya January 28, 2017

One minor thing I don’t think he stood up for himself that’s inaccurate he was dragged out of his Uncle’s house in the middle of the night and beat ruthlessly and then tied on the water wheel. Emmitt being from Chicago spoke to her being friendly because he wasn’t use to the south more specifically the rules of the area in which he was. For that he was killed by those white men cause of a lie.

  22. 4U2See January 27, 2017

Glad ya’ll see this. People today should stop trying to get those albinoid devil’s approval on everything with someone black that they accept for their pathetic greed and insecurities. I would NEVA try to be for them. That is FU, now she is scared since she is 82 because those spirits is going to be lit in her awake of darkness that will encounter her wickedness. Peace!

  23. blue January 28, 2017

sad thing in deed, but the things said on here are disgusting. I swear most of you shall burn in hell for the ill will you wish upon others.

  24. OMG Logic!!! January 28, 2017

What a nasty old cu nt. She only felt bad once she lost a son of her own? So she didn’t feel bad or guilty or remorseful before then?

I do feel like I have to mention that the comments on here are also disappointing. Hatred is what the world needs less of. Instead, I see so much hatred towards White people. You guys do realize that as the overwhelming majority, White people are also the ones that helped and allowed for change to happen. All the fights for civil rights had to accepted by the majority of Americans.

Painting all White people the same is the same as what the racists do to Black people. It’s not okay to paint a group of people as racists just like it’s not okay to paint a group of people as dangerous.

That is the devil for you. after death the life force of evil ones who deliberately cause the death of others are resurrected. Only not for a second chance or some ideal satisfactory heavenly existence. They with memory of their evil are resurrected into a burning hell of torment. It is like a jail sentence of life. The universe has many such suns and planets that man will never, ever be able to reach. These existences are populated of these evil souls who have died and been resurrected or reincarnated where only torment exist and death does not provide an escape. that woman and the murderers are burning on one of these suns or planets forever and ever.
