‘A White Lie’ will tell the true story of an African-American woman who was able to pass as a lady of the Caucasian persuasion to avoid the horrors dished out to her darker-skinned sisters.

How she did it? Her white skin.

Her name? Anita Hemmings.

Keen to tell her story? Zendaya who has now bagged the full support of TriStar as she brings the story to cinematic life using the book ‘The Gilded Years‘ as her guide.

A release date for the Reese Witherspoon-produced project is yet to be announced.
