Monica may have a baby on board, but that isn’t halting her musical hustle.

Prior to announcing that she’s expecting, the married mother of two was snapped cooking up new material with R&B crooner Miguel. And it appears work is continuing on the project throughout her pregnancy.

Hitmaker and longtime collaborator Jermaine Dupri shared footage of himself in the studio with Mrs. Brown piecing together the follow-up to last year’s ‘New Life’, which didn’t deliver the sales many had hoped it would.

As “knockdowns” and “comebacks” go, Monica has had her fair share of both. Hence, we’re confident she’ll redeem herself commercially in the near future.

Watch her as she presses on with that process below…

Age ain’t nothing but a number. Just ask Mariah Carey.

The 43-year-old diva is showing no signs of slowing. With a hit on her hands in the form of ‘#Beautiful’ and an album due next month, it’s clear Ms. Carey-Cannon is in a music state of mind.

Still, she’s not letting this (nor ‘Glitter’) quell her big screen ambitions. The songstress is set to make a cameo in Lee Daniels‘ hotly anticipated new movie ‘The Butler’. Already tipped for Oscar success, the film chronicles the life and times of Eugene Allen – the Black butler who served eight US presidents between 1952-1986.

Set for release in October, a new promo for the flick (which also stars Oprah Winfrey and Terrence Howard)  has been released depicting a make-up less Mimi working in the fields. A far cry from her glamorous get-ups, this marks the second time the singer has appeared in such a manner for an acting role. The first, 2009’s ‘Precious’, was also directed by Daniels.

The-Dream produced number is the latest to be lifted from the singer’s fourth studio album ‘Talk A Good Game’ which struts into stores next Tuesday (June 18th).

That Grape Juice caught up with the 32-year old on the set of the video for ‘Laundry’, where she dished on the visual, its parent album, becoming a judge on The X Factor USA and more.

In an age where popularity and ‘hits’ trumps popularity and talent, the last seven years have seen Rihanna become a serious threat to performers far more gifted than she could ever be.

Kept afloat by her aesthetic, personality and the genius that is Jay Brown, Brand Rihanna‘s heart lies not in the skill that sees the likes of Beyonce and Justin Timberlake reign almost twenty years after their debuts, but the songwriters and producers that keep audiences across the globe enthused…when that voice fails to do the trick.

Now, after becoming the youngest artist to play France’s ‘Stade De France’, the Pop puppet has thanked her fans for making it possible while taking aim at her competition.

This year’s instalment of BET Awards keeps getting better.

Already boasting performances from the likes of Chris Brown, R. Kelly, and Miguel, Hip-Hop force Kendrick Lamar has today been named as the latest star to grace to coveted stage.

The high-profile spot is quite the coup for the rapper who has been rapidly rising since blazing the charts with his major label debut ‘good kid, M.A.A.D City’. Released last October, the set has shifted 913,000 copies and is on the brink of being certified Platinum (sold).

Peep Kendrick’s ‘Poetic Justice’ video below and be sure to check out the BET Awards 2013 when it airs live from  Nokia Theatre on June 30th.

Robin Thicke is currently riding the wave of success with his biggest hit yet, ‘Blurred Lines’. Yet, despite this, one nagging soundbite remains a constant — Justin Timberlake and his supposed “swagger-jack” of Thicke’s sound.

Notoriously cool, calm, and collected, the Soulful crooner has remained relatively mum on the topic. However, during a promotional stop at Hot 97 this week, the singer offered his sincere take on the “situation”.

Find out what he had to say after the jump…

As June 18th approaches, you can expect to see much more of a certain Kelly Rowland.

Like hopping from coast to coast Stateside on her Dream-assisted ‘Lights Out Tour’ wasn’t enough, Rowland saw her promo train roll right into ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon’ tonight with the assistance of hit rapper Wiz Khalifa.

The duo unveiled the first live performance of their tune ‘Gone’ (which surfaced today) and is among many gems listed on the diva’s forthcoming album ‘Talk A Good Game‘.

With his stint on ‘The Voice’ largely hailed a success, Usher is (smartly) ensuring he milks the platform for all it’s worth. Case, point, his performance of ‘Twisted’ on tonight’s episode.

The popular coach” – who will sit out the Fall season of the show- electrified the stage with a live showing the track, which fused shades of James Brown and Michael Jackson with his own trademark performing style.

Produced by Pharrell Williams, we imagine the cut is receiving a push thanks to the Neptunes star’s renewed popularity (see: Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines’, Daft Punk, and the like). Whatever the reason, it’s great to see Mr Raymond continuing to plug its parent album ‘Looking 4 Myself’, while cooking up its follow-up.

Is ‘Twisted’ likely to set the charts ablaze or revive the project it sits on? We doubt it. However, the fact it birthed  a performance such as the one below has us feeling wholly appreciative.

Watch Usher work after the jump!
