Said to be hosted at New York City’s Jazz at Lincoln Center on April 23rd, the annual soiree is set to honor Time magazine’s ‘100 most influential people‘ of the year – a list that features the likes of Ocean, Aguilera, Miguel, and more.

As reported here, Jennifer Hudson and Christina Aguilera were two of the stars tapped to honor Queen of Disco Donna Summer at this year’s annual ‘Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’ induction ceremony.

Taking place last night at Los Angeles’ famed Nokia Theatre, Hudson was joined by gal pals Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, Oprah Winfrey, and Usher (amongst others) to pay homage to honorees like Summer, Quincy Jones and more.

Though the answer to that question will be obvious to her supporters, it isn’t easy so clear for any who aren’t as in tune with her career as they are.

For, by way of the brief hiatus she took to raise her daughter Blue Ivy (and Pop’s forgetful nature), it’s become a little too easy to overlook the impact the star made with her first three solo albums and her work with Destiny’s Child before that.

So, in reminding the world of the classic jams that dominated airwaves well before nabbing all 17 of her Grammys, the ‘Creole’ gem served a killer performance of B’Day‘s ‘Freakdum Dress‘ on her latest world tour.

Destiny’s Child diva Michelle Williams is earning rave reviews for her role in hit musical FELA, and we’re giving you the chance to find out why!

The stage production, which tells the story of Nigerian legend Fela Kuti, has enjoyed successful runs on Broadway and London’s West End, and is poised for similar success for its Los Angeles residency which sets sail next week (April 26th – May 5th).

Williams, who is putting the finishing touches to her new Gospel album, stars as Kuti’s love interest Sandra Isadore in the much-loved narrative.
