Kicking off 2002 with the Timbaland-produced ‘Oops (Oh My),’ the singer’s (born Charlene Keys) soared up the Billboard Hot 100 that year (#7 peak) courtesy of the Missy Elliott-produced bop that’s become an empowerment anthem about self-love.

Helping its parent album, ‘Southern Hummingbird,’ fly even higher on the Billboard 200 at the height of its popularity (#3 peak), ‘Oops’ is undoubtedly Keys signature song and the most prized entry of her critically acclaimed discography – a position reiterated recently by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Although the December 8 due date of Nicki Minaj‘s ‘Pink Friday 2‘ looming, the Rap royal appears to still be very much putting the finishing touches on the project which serves as her long-awaited fifth studio album.

Frequently going live on social media to give her beloved fans (affectionately called #Barbz) updates, Nicki’s alluded to pushing the LP’s delivery back again due to last-minute changes.

One of said changes may be the addition of a fiery new track featuring R&B stars Monica and Keyshia Cole.

P!nk may be taking a break from rocking stadiums around the globe on her critically acclaimed ‘Summer Carnival’ jaunt, but before the Pop diva revs the show up for its 2024 slew of dates she’s tiding fans over with a deluxe edition of her ninth studio album ‘Trustfall.’

Delivered courtesy of RCA Records on Friday (December 1), the expanded project features two new songs and six live recordings from the record-breaking tour as well as covers of Sade‘s ‘No Ordinary Love’ and Sinead O’Connor‘s ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’ (as we reported here).

BET+ continues to make the season bright with a slew of new titles for its 2023 holiday slate.

Having already warmed hearts with the yuletide-flavored films ‘A Wesley Christmas Wedding,’ ‘Christmas Angel,’ ‘Sworn Justice, ‘Christmas Ringer,’ and more, next up for rollout is ‘Never Alone for Christmas.’

Directed by Kenny Young, ‘Never’ – which stars Mignon Von, Allen Maldonado, & GRAMMY-winning Soul diva Macy Gray – follows the “misadventures of a young couple who decide to call off their wedding just as the holidays begin.” Set to face season alone, the two separately decide to attend a Christmas retreat only to find the other is there alongside a new boo. The hilarious mayhem that ensues as a result is definitely one for the books.

As if turning heads at the 2023 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the 2023 ‘Christmas at Rockefeller Center’ TV special, ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,’ ‘Wetten, dass..?,‘ ‘The Today Show,’ and more over the last two weeks wasn’t enough, the 77-year-old icon was spotted on ‘Graham Norton’ recently rocking out the latest live rendition of the Mark Taylor-produced tune.

OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network) kicks off its 2023 ‘OWN for the Holidays’ slate of holiday films with ‘A Christmas Serenade.’

Starring Skye Townsend and B.J. Britt, the festive flick tells the story of a musician who returns to his hometown after many years and lands a gig as the minister of music at his home church.  The job leads to a reignited feud with a former nemesis (the pastor’s daughter) that surprisingly turns into a holiday romance.

Nearly a month after first acquainting fans with the Sexyy Red and B.G.-assisted ‘Yonce Freestyle,‘ rapper Kevin Gates drops the cut’s official music video on what was originally supposed to be the December 1 release date of the song’s parent album – ‘The Ceremony.’

“Breadwinner, elevator in my garage / My exotic bulldogs, exotic cars / Level two, push the button, I levitated / The doors open to Beyonce concert, I’m beyond turnt,” Gates raps on his opening verse of the ProdByJM, EJ Grimes, and Juko-produced cut.
