As we reported here, Queen of Pop Madonna was royally ousted from the #2 spot of “most RIAA certified female artists in history [albums]” thanks to the updated certification of Mariah Carey‘s Christmas album, ‘Merry Christmas.’

Now 6X Platinum, which denotes sales equivalence of 6 million units in the United States, the holiday effort’s new status gave Mimi just the slight push needed to place her in history books only behind Barbra Streisand.  Fast forward to this week, the ‘Vision of Love’ beauty apparently has Babs’ position in her sights as a slew of her hit singles and albums – including ‘Fantasy,’ ‘Hero,’ ‘One Sweet Day,’ and more – saw their respective sales tallies verified and reported to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for update.

With the new numbers Carey comes that much closer to being crowned the best-selling female artist in U.S. history.  Details inside:

Only a week separates Gucci Mane fans from his highly anticipated LP, ‘Woptober II.’

His third LP in less than a year, last week’s announcement about the project and its official release date was accompanied with a taste of what music lovers can expect from the October 17-due set.  Coming courtesy of the Megan Thee Stallion-assisted ‘Big Booty’ (as we first reported here), the duo tapped Eif Rivera to direct its official music video (chock full of high fashion, fly cars, and – of course – big booties).

After being branded “Mammy Tammy” by angry social media users, embattled Dallas judge Tammy Kemp continues to speak out against the ongoing backlash she’s enduring after exhibiting what many are deeming “inappropriate” and “unethical” behavior during the infamous Amber Guyger trial.

As we reported here, Kemp went on a media blitz earlier this week that saw her sit down with CNN, CBS, and a number of local news outlets to plead her case against critics who slammed her for hugging Guyger after the former policewoman was convicted of killing an innocent Black man.

Breaking down, the judge tearfully commented:

“Frankly, I don’t think I would getting this criticism if Miss Guyger were a Black woman. I hate that we limit our compassion to one race.”

Taking to today’s ‘Tamron Hall Show’ (October 10), Kemp not only broke down again while addressing the controversy and fears for her safety, but also echoed the sentiment of earlier interviews – even saying that ‘no one would refuse giving [Guyger] a hug’ under the circumstance.

Oh how things change.

Iggy Azalea first rose to mainstream prominence as the protegeé of rap star T.I. And initially their union proved fruitful – with the femcee nabbing hits such as ‘Fancy’ and ‘Black Widow.’

However, after the rapstress engaged in a series of digital spats with prominent figures in the Hip-Hop sphere, the Grand Hustle general took an increasing backseat in her career.

Now, it appears that distance isn’t just professional. It’s personal.
