The 30th annual BRIT Awards are taking place right now, and is set to feature performances from the likes of Lady GaGa, Jay-Z, JLS, Alicia Keys, and Cheryl Cole. As ever, That Grape Juice has you covered. Check out the live stream below!
The lovely Michelle Williams made an appearance on The Wendy Williams Show earlier today. Bubbly as ever, the Destiny’s Child alumni was quizzed by the former shock-jock on everything from her role as Roxie Hart in Broadway’s ‘Chicago’, to leaving Mathew Knowles’ Music World, to her new relationship (you know Wendy got the ‘juice’!). Peep the hilarious interview above, and her performance of ‘Roxie’ (with some of the ‘Chicago’ cast) below:
Pop phenomenon Lady GaGa literally just arrived on the red carpet at the 2010 BRIT Awards at Earls Court Arena in here London. What else can be said other than she looks very…GaGa!
While the mother of Mathew Knowles’ alleged newborn son filed papers in court today to get him to pay child support, TMZ have published what they claim is the first picture of the child (above). Can you see a resemblance?
The woman at the centre of the scandal, a former employee of Knowles named Alexandria Wright, claims she had an 18-month affair with the 59 year old, who is the father of megastar Beyonce. An alleged affair which resulted in the birth of her son, and the divorce of Mathew and wife of 29 years Tina. Despite dodging the issue publicly, Knowles has agreed to take a paternity test soon.
Regardless of whether or not the child is his (which all signs point to it being a possibility), this will no doubt come as a major embarrassment for Beyonce, Solange, Tina and the whole family. SMH…
Check out these official shots from Lady GaGa and Beyonce‘s highly anticipated video for their new single ‘Telephone’, which were released by GaGa’s team a few moments ago. Word has it we’re but a few weeks away from the clip’s première.
To say we’re anticipating this one would be an understatement, particularly in light of GaGa’s much-touted statement that she feels ‘sorry for the Bad Romance’ video – as this is that much better. Exciting stuff.
According to the ever reliable Kelly-Rowland.net, Grammy Award winning singer Kelly Rowland is wrapping up her as yet untitled Universal Motown debut; yet before doing so, the 28 year old has logged in studio-time with hit-maker Danja!
For those unfamiliar, Danja boasts an impressive production discography, which includes Britney’s ‘Gimme More’, Madonna’s ’4 Minutes’, Mariah’s ‘Migrate’, Keri Hilson’s ‘Knock You Down’, and Whitney’s ‘For The Lovers’. It pretty much goes without saying that he’s as A-List as a producer will come.
It really does seem both Kelly and her new label are going all out to ensure that this project is top-notch, and top-notch it’s appearing to be. With the industry buzzing and the production list looking ever-the-more promising, Kelly (at least on paper) seems to be on to a winner.Collaborating with Danja, more specifically, is something that has been in the works for the better part of two years, and is something Kelly discussed with That Grape Juice way back in 2008. So to see it finally materialising is awesome.
Word has it, Ms. Kelly’s LP will be hitting shelves around May times. We can not wait!
Randomness: Danja also had production credits on Danity Kane’s ‘Welcome To The Dollhouse’ (‘Pretty Boy’, ‘Striptease’, ‘Bad Girl’), which is conceptually what I’m envisioning Kelly’s project to be like (an Urban/Pop/Dance) fusion). If anything on that wavelength, we’re in for a treat!
Following the mammoth success of their ‘The E.N.D’ project, the Black Eyed Peas have gone all the way out for their new video, a 10 minute double-clip for singles ‘Imma Be’ and ‘Rock That Body’ (aptly re-titled ‘Imma Rock That Body’). Directed by Rich Lee, this Transformers-inspired vid can only be described as epic. Awesome video.
What do you think of the video?
Just a quick reminder to let you know that you still have time to enter our competition to win tickets to 50 Cent‘s UK tour. For more details and to enter…
When Mariah Carey set out on her ‘Angel’s Advocate Tour’ in support of her poorly received, and even worse charting, ‘Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel’ LP, we highlighted that it made little sense considering her dismal record sales and public disinterest. It appears such observations have been validated, as it has been revealed that the 39 year old diva is struggling to sell-out 3000 seat venues.
Box office tally’s, as per Billboard (via Mariah Daily), for Carey’s January 27th 2010 show at the DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C, show that of a possible 3166 seats, the songbird only managed to fill 2430… leaving 736 seats empty. Ouch.
Oh Mimi! It’s actually kinda sad to see how things are turning out for her after such an amazing comeback with ‘The Emancipation of Mimi’. I mean even playing such small venues when she’s a star of such a magnitude must have been a blow to her ego; so not being able put bottoms in seats, must be even worse. Looking at the situation objectively, it was evident a mile off that a tour was a no-no, hence why it ever materialised is beyond me. Embarrassing.
Tidbit: In other Mariah news, ‘Angel’s Cry (ft. Ne-Yo)’ is on heavy rotation on UK music TV channels.
The incomparable Mary J. Blige performed a set for Walmart Soundcheck. Blige, 39, served up live renditions of an array of songs from her latest LP ‘Stronger With Each Tear’ including ‘I Am’ (above) and ‘The One’, as well as previous chart smashes ‘Be Without You’, ‘Family Affair’ and ‘Just Fine’. Check out the awesome performances, along with her interview after the jump…
