Mariah Carey is back in the lab.

The self styled elusive chanteuse took a brief break from her well-selling Las Vegas residency to cut new tracks. And this time she’s doing so with Justin Bieber and French Montana.

Mimi shared the festive session with fans on Instagram, promising that the fruit of their studio labour is “#coming soon.”

Helping the trio make magic is hitmaker Eric Hudson (also pictured above).

No word on whose project the collaboration is for; however it’s worth noting that Mariah is currently readying a Christmas TV movie for Hallmark (which will have a heavy music component), while Bieber is gearing up to drop a new album.

Save for a series of annual live shows, Lauryn Hill has taken on a reclusive presence in the music industry over the last decade.

However, when Ms. Hill steps out, she shines like only she can.

Soaring songbird Leona Lewis took vocal flight on the Kelly & Michael show this week.

The X Factor champion wowed with a spirited rendition of new single ‘Thunder,’ which is housed on her upcoming studio album ‘I Am’ (due September 11th via Island/Def Jam).

Backed by a full band, the showing was the first televised offering of the cut from the London bred beauty.

The Meek Mill v. Drake debacle just got an interesting addition in the form of songstress Keri Hilson.

While the world continues to weigh in on Mill’s long-awaited clapback. ‘Wanna Know’ (delivered tonight), comments from Hilson have landed her in hot water with fans of his ‘Young Money’ nemesis.

Knocking down and clapping back at detractors who are slamming her for her thoughts on plagiarism, some of which were thought to be aimed at Drake, the ‘Knock You Down’ diva is trying to clear her name from the mess.

Hopefully it’s not too late…

Titled ‘Wanna Know,’ the tune finally surfaced online tonight after many speculated the Philly rapper would not be able to recover from Drizzy’s diss.

Funny-man Kevin Hart has much to smile about.

The actor/comedian is a bonafide box office draw and his star looks set to soar to dizzying heights following his new Rolling Stone cover spread.

Traditionally occupied by singers, the publication’s front page deviates from the norm to welcome the ‘Think Like A Man’ talent.

Gushing about the honor, Hart – who is currently filming three movies (including ‘Ride Along 2’) told his 20 million Instagram followers:

We love us some Mariah Carey here at TGJ. However, there’s no denying that the diva has become renown for wearing little in recent years.

It’s refreshing, then, to see her taking on new visual inspiration – even if only for a themed shoot.

Mimi, along with other notable names such as Katy Perry and Oprah Winfrey, appear in the September issue of Harper’s Bazaar magazine for a unique Icons feature.

Snapped by Jean Paul Goude and directed by Carine Roitfeld, the concept sees today’s Icons (not sure about Katy Perry, but we digress) transformed into legends from history.

For 45 year old Mariah, the muse was was French queen Marie Antoinette.

Speaking on the shoot, the singer said:

“I’m pretty much the opposite of Marie Antoinette, but it’s always fun to throw on a costume.”
