After a lengthy break on the bench, ‘TGJ Replay’ is back!

Designed much like our ‘Retro Rewind’ and ‘From the Vault’ features, ‘Replay’ is That Grape Juice‘s newest retrospective segment – a written quest, if you will, to re-spin the gems and jams of yesterday.

Unlike its ‘Rewind’ and ‘Vault’ predecessors, ‘Replay’ looks to dust off and showcase entire albums (and eras) from a library of pop and Urban pop music hits.  As this week marks the 25th anniversary of the release of ‘Rhythm Nation’ – the now legendary fourth album from pop superstar Janet Jackson, we are set to deliver our biggest ‘Replay’ yet in homage to the Queen.

Of late, Ariana Grande has a ‘Problem’ that is beyond her chart-topping hit.

For, seemingly out of nowhere, a measured myriad of stories centered around her supposedly “diva” behaviour have been doing the rounds.

It was but a few days ago that Kandi Burruss and producer husband Todd Tucker hit the radio trail in support of the tour version of their play ‘A Mother’s Love’.

However, while buzz for the US trek was healthy, it appears the back-end business side of things was anything but.

For, after just four shows, the 30-date jaunt has been abruptly cancelled.

‘JHUD’, Jennifer Hudson‘s third studio album, arrives next Tuesday. So, with just days to go before the set hits retail, the vocal powerhouse is hitting the promo trail. Hard.

Yesterday saw the Oscar and Grammy winner take to the stage on ‘America’s Got Talent’ finale, where she performed current single ‘It’s Your World’ before launching into a show-stopping rendition of ‘Dreamgirls’ classic ‘And I Am Telling You’ with 12-year-old contestant Quintavious Johnson.

Dutch DJ and producer Breach calls on the ‘Bossy‘ Kelis to complete his latest single this year, linking creative arms with the singer to release ‘The Key.’

The ladies are still running this mutha-!

For the second week in a row, every song in the top 5 of the Hot 100 is all female!  With acts like Meghan Trainor, Nicki Minaj, and Taylor Swift leading the pack, there has been little switch-up from last week to this.  But, with a web of radio and digital spins aiding its ascension, Iggy Azalea‘s ‘Widow’ climbs into the thick of the action.

The parallels between the narratives of Gwen Stefani and Fergie are uncanny.

Both ladies stem from groups. Both ladies broke out solo with sounds that fused Pop and Urban. And both ladies were incredibly successful during the mid 00’s.

It’s fitting, although we doubt coincidence, then that the lady’s label Interscope are gearing up to launch their respective comeback campaigns within a month of each other.

Excited? If so, you won’t have to wait long to hear what the Pop forces have been cooking up.

Having delivered daughter Summer Rain last month, Christina Aguilera is putting the wheels in motion for her chart return.

The vocal powerhouse has made no secret of the fact that she’s working on a new album, the follow-up to 2012’s ‘Lotus’. Indeed, the diva had been piecing together the project throughout her pregnancy.
