Former R&B chick Pink and her infectious hit ‘You Make Me Sick’ are this week’s From The Vault pick.

Released in the year 2000, ‘Sick’ was the third and last single off the singer’s debut ‘Can’t Take Me Home’. Produced by Babyface, it sees Ms. Moore-Hart open up about a passionate love affair that has her going out of her mind.

Unlike its predecessors ‘There You Go’ and ‘Most Girl’, it didn’t reach the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100, instead peaking at #33. However, it got to the ninth position of the UK Official Singles Chart.

Pink’s frequent collaborator Dave Meyers took charge of the visualization of the track. The result: a high-octane, colorful and hilarious piece of work. Proving that there’s only but a thin line between LOVE and HATE, it was the diva’s first of many comedy-themed videos – which became Pink’s trademark on a visual tip.

Having quite literally ruled the Hot 100 last year, the ‘Just Give Me A Reason’ vocalist seems to be in a league of her own today. Indeed, with her show-stopping stage antics and blend of soulful-Pop/Rock, she incredibly keeps gaining even more recognition at a time when her peers’ stars are starting to fade.

Here at TGJ HQ, we’ll always salivate at the prospect of new material from the ‘Just Like A Pill’ Pop-genius, and we would be lying if we said we weren’t praying for an Urban-tinged album for her next chart assault.

History has highlighted that even the most seasoned of talents have “bad days”. This evening presented such a case for R&B star and actor Tyrese, who performed the ‘Star Spangled Banner’ at the Floyd Mayweather vs Marcos Maidana boxing match. 

The crooner, whose hits include ‘Sweet Lady’ and ‘How You Gonna Act Like That’, suffered quite the hit when trying to perform the US National Anthem.

This evening saw Saturday Night Live pay hilarious homage to the ‘Hive’ with a side-splittingly funny skit called ‘The Beygency’.

While a number of her rivals clamour for the attention of single-buying teen boppers, Christina Aguilera set her sights on an older audience this year, taking flight towards AC heavens with a set at the ‘New Orleans Jazz Festival.’

Stellar to say the very least, her performance at the 1751 Gentilly Blvd-held event saw her showcase the musicality that’s always placed her head and shoulders above the bulk of her contemporaries and the polished gem that is her voice, neatly restrained but never lacking its signature rasp.

‘UTA‘s Kevin Hart may sit atop the comedic food chain with a string of Box Office wins to his name, but it would seem he’s got a long way to go before he impress fellow funny man Mike Epps this year.

Billing him “overrated” here, Epps soon found himself on the receiving end of a barrage of insults aimed his way by the ‘Soul Plane‘ actor, who threatened to eat into his share of comedy’s pie by booking shows in the same city’s and same night’s as Mike’s.
