With a November 6th release date now set for Chris Brown’s sophomore album ‘Exclusive’, yet another track from the set has surfaced. Produced by Brian Michael Cox, ‘Throwed’ see’s the 18 year old singer embrace the ‘Go Go’ sounds of his native Virginia. Though the track is pretty decent, it doesn’t really go beyond being just that. Not even the track’s catchy chorus can save the song from coming across as being kinda generic – something most of his material has been sounding like as of late.
Hit or Miss?
Ummm … it’s okay I guess. I did like the Go Go beat … made me think of that song Doing the B***.
i havent heard any growth in his music which is disapointing! i wanna hear take u down. that sounded like it was gonna be on point! all these generic tracks ive heard are boring. i mean kiss kiss was fantastic for about 2 weeks but it got old FAST! he needs to come out with a good slow song right now!
The “GoGo” sound is not from Virginia, per se’. Its based out of the Washington D.C. Area which includes parts of Maryland & Northern Virginia. Its influence is confinded to that area & is not seen as a sound from the entire state of Virginia. I know…b/c I was born & raised in the DC Area.
Chris Brown is from Southern Virginia…near NC….in the Hampton/Portsmouth Area — clearly nowhere near the DC Metro Area.
Stop hating on Chris, he’s an 18 year old man. WHAT THE HELL ELSE would you like him to sing about GLOBAL WARMING or maybe GETTING A GIRL PREGNANT. Be realistic. He’s doing the right music for his t*** and young adult audience.
This is no where near close to being considered GoGo…but its ok for what it is
