Mariah Carey and Island Def Jam will have much for celebration this week; the diva’s latest LP ‘E=MC²’ landed atop of the Billboard 200 chart after selling a whopping 463,000 copies in the US in its first week. The figures are a career best for Carey, whose previous highest debut was 2005’s ‘Mimi’ which also bowed at #1 selling 404,000 units in its premiere week.Carey now stands beside Janet Jackson and Madonna as having the second most #1 albums among female artists (6 a piece). Congratulations to Mimi. Yes random, but I’m gonna need Ms. Jackson to get her stuff together and make this ‘Discipline’ project work. Mariah and Madonna are showing that age isn’t a factor, it’s the machine you have behind you. Hopefully Janet/her people get things moving – and fast.

Janet’s career is over. Three flop albums in a row = no chance at a comeback. She saw the demise that many top artists have seen. There is nothing wrong with the project. Her time has simply passed. It’s time to get over it and move on.

It seems as if Mariah is doing better since getting through her rough patches at the beginning of the decade but that shows that faith and belief in her talent and hard work shows that anything is possible. Keep doing your thing girl it is worth it. A fan from the gate, 18 years long and strong.

Not for nothing, but Mariah Carey’s album is pure garbage. It’s one long song. And that one long song sounds like a song from a previous album. The “durty souf” sound is BEYOND played out: all you need is a Playskool My First Keyboard and Drum Set to produce it and I wish a true artist would break out of it and give us something of substance to listen to.
That said, Madonna’s album is really good. Discipline wasn’t a bad album, but the problem with Janet is that she’s OD’d on the sexual lyrics and she’s never been able to recover from the Superbowl incident (mainly because the whole world knows she’s a liar and that the whole thing was planned). If she had told the truth from the start, or maybe if Rene was still her creative director and told her how much of a bad move exposing her breast to the Superbowl audience would have been (it was the WRONG audience to try that with), she’d still be producing hits.
CONGRATS…BUT, MARIAH’S ALBUM IS WACK! NOW IT’S ALL ABOUT MADONNA ON 4/29 “HARD CANDY” WILL BE #1 AND IT’S A BANGER!!!

The Emancipation of Mimi has got to be the best cd I’ve heard by anyone in years. E=MC2 is good. But not her best work. I really wish Jermain would stop saying “Yall know who dis is” at the beginning of every damn song they work on together. The songs she did without him are hot. I skip the ones she did with his ass. He is making me sick. Bye, Bye sucks, but overall, the cd is hot. The song that is used for her perfume commercial is so nice. I can’t get it outta my head. I think it’s called “For the Record”. OOC, Migrate, Love u Long Time are favs. MC is good at what she does.
