1. They didn’t publicize that EnVogue, TLC, and SWV were coming. I only watched because I heard this through internet rumor.
2. The Chris Brown and Ciara showdown..Who would miss that!
3. Why didn’t they announce that JabbaWockees were dancing with Ne-Yo!!!!

Exactly. They must have heard about the rumours and let them escalate. People (not myself) watched the whole show expecting Beyonce to pop out, so they must’ve maintained their audience throughout, so it was a wise business decision. It shows how desperate the BET awards is.
Their poor excuse was that anything can happen concerning who is performing and who isn’t, but they could at least confirm who is and isn’t performing. Or just not confirm until the day or wk before the performance. Simple. Instead they’re announcing people way ahead on purpose.
Okay so I try and try to keep my own hatin to myself, but seriously….I could care less about Beyonce. The sucked cause of the lack of attendees and performers. Honestly, I was glad that Beyonce wasn’t there. She can sing, dance, and she usually looks hot…but I’ve just had enough of her!

I dont think that was the main factor. The performance that Beyonce gave at the BET awards last year waas, alright! She is a pretty girl with a nice shape and she always dresses nice for the occassion. That’s why she was missed. Mariah sounds horrible. That falsetto voice/sound that she is singing in ALL of the time is terrible. She can sing-So Sang!!!!!
Neyo gave the best performance. And lets face reality…Janet Jackson CANNOT sing. She CANNOT hold a note! She is a great lip-sync artist and a GREAT performer. Janet needs to hand her crown over to CIARA-they are the same vocally to me, but CIARA knows she can dance!! OMG-it should be a sin to be able to move like she does!!!! Ashanti should have performed. The new single is the bomb and hot right now-She shouldve been given that opportunity to belt that one out!!! Alicia Keys looked great but she looked like she was having a hard time being girly. T-boz sounded horrible. Chilli cant sing. Envogue was great. SWV-the leader sounded ok….basically the ratings always dropped from the previous show. I think everyone was looking for to Beyonce, Usher and Lil Wayne performing the REMIX to “Love in This Club”. I was very disappointed

I agree with you up top. Because this year The BET Awards was Boring and Wack some of the performances were okay. But all the tribute to Al Green was great, and Marvin sapp was amazing. Girl Groups coming out was good but rush and Alicia should’ve just get off the stage and let En Vogue, TLC, and SWV do there thing on stage. Because Alicia sounded like she was trying to sang over them. I still like Alicia but her Teenage Love Affair Performance was a little irritating just hearing her voice like that. The only reason I watch was to see Beyonce performed, with Usher and Lil Wayne. When that didn’t happen I was mad because not anyone really came on there A game this year. But just wait because MTV going to make sure they out do BET just by asking Beyonce to perform her new single for her album. It’s going to be alot of people watching. But i did actually tune in to see beyonce and usher because last year and the year before that her performances have been the best out of anybody, because she has so much energy when she performs. the BET awards was so lame this year.

Wow. I can not, have not and never will understand this obsession with Beyonce. It’s really not cool or healthy considering that she is not the only female who can sing and dance. She was not the first to do it well and will NOT be the last. So, I honestly can not relate to those who worship her to the point of excluding EVERY other female singer on this planet or feeling that they must compare every female singer to Beyonce as though she was the first female singer ever. Um Beyonce was nominated in 04 she won 2 awards cause in 03 crazy in love and all those songs were too new so she won them in 04 n when monique preformed, they showed beyonce all happy getting out of her seat.
ANYWAYS… the awards this year were wack cause muisc in general was not that hot. mariah, alicia and mary all had hits so did usher but they had bigger hits before. Please mary only had one hot single off this album and usher’s performace was wack, he only did one song and didn’t bring out bey and wayne and he LIP SYNCHED! Second I and the rest of those million viewers got bills to pay. Gas prices are no joke, why would I waste 2 hours of my life watching the same non-sense that goes on every year. Leave Mariah, Mary, Ashanti and DK girls out of this mess. People were turned off by the first performance-need I say more (Usher), Second Keyshia Cole sounded like a dieing whale and her dancing was wack. alicia’s ass was boring at first, not until she bought out the 90’s girl groups. I got tired of seeing T-pain voice box lyrics and Kanye crying ass always trying to make a fool of himself. chris brown performance by himself was wack, and ciara saved the performance, that’s when things started to livin up again. Ne-yo’s performance was the best out of all the new artists. Al Green and Maxwell made these new artists look like amateurs. I’m a B-Fan but I was praying to see Ashanti perform tonight because I wanted to see her live. rihanna’s performance was boring too and her singing was ok, nothing outstanding. Nelly and Ciara was good. Lil Wayne, how can I say this but the singles are garbage. Maxwell, Jill Scott, and Al Green bought a good memory of what good music is all about. I’m praying for Maxwell to come out with another album. With this said the awards was boring, with very few performances that stood out as talent.

I agree with sparklydiva it was not about Beyonce. The stans missed her. It was more about BET hyping the show to what the fans expected and BET did not deliver. Usher did not deliver as the man who supposedly is dubbed Mr.Entertainment. We did not see him in the crowd. Did he even stick around for face time? Alicia Keys had a good surprise performance. Had they hyped up her surprise with all the girl groups of the 90s like they did Usher, more viewers would have been there. Same with Chris Brown and Ciara performing together, btw hot performance. No Mary, No Mariah, No old school divas such as the likes of Patti Labelle, Tina Turner, to show the youguns who they got it from. Al Green was the only man representin great feel good music. I am glad Bey wasnt there. That girl needs a rest number one, and number two she does not make a show. She wasnt even nominated this year so what realy purpose was there for her to show up. This year could have been a lot better if they had a different host. Tyra coulda hosted and it would have been more entertaining than DL Hugley with his D-List ass. And yeah it would have been much better with J-Hud performing Spotlight and Dressed up in Love as a surprise Performance instead of Ri Ri – Though I did enjoy Take a Bow because she really has a place in the entertainment business because she brings something to the table. Over all next yr will be much better because maybe they will replan it…have something better to show……….Cause the worst mistake they made was to start with Usher performing Love in the Club cause that song does not compare to his previous material and the rest of the Album was also very low grade material.

-Its cable, so it’ll be back on
-Those who missed the show can always You Tube the performances
-D.L Hugley was the host-nuff said
-At the end of the day, its BET

I’m not a big Bey fan. Yes she can sing and perform well, but she’s not all that. She didn’t show up because it wasn’t all about her. As some one stated earlier, she wasn’t nominated for anything, she wasn;t asked to perform. So she thought that she was too good to just sit back and appreciate other artist’s. I pick MaryJ,Ashanti,and CiCi over Bey any day. Even when Beyonce performs on the awards she doesn’t perform the whole entire show. That’s ignorant to even suggest the show had poor ratings because of her. Ne-Yo had the best performance, and with Chris only the part when Ci, came out was hot during his performance,I liked Nelly’s, but usher should have stayed home and changed diapers.A Keys, usually performs way better than she did to me. RiRi looked as if she had just came out of a cemetery, and was scared to move,and Keisha I can listen to her music on the radio all day, but live she never seems to get it right.
The Show still was boring. The only reason Beyonce could not be there because she was working on her film obsessed. So why you trying to say she think she too good to show up. Thats alie. My causen knows Beyonce causen Angie and Angie live in Houstan Texas. My Causen ask Angie why Beyonce didn’t come to the BET Awards and Angie said because Beyonce was shooting the scenes for the Obsessed movie and that Beyonce did want to come and watch the show but her father said that she needs to stay and finish the scene for the movie. But I do wish that Beyonce, Lil Wayne and Usher should have perform at the BET Awards together because than Usher would of had a great opening performance at the BET Award show. Usher performance was okay this year but he just needed surprise guest to perform with him.
The show would’ve sucked, with or without Beyonce. So it ain’t got nothing to do with her. It would’ve been wack with her there. The ratings wouldn’t have went up any further. These award shows suck period. Even the Grammy’s. None of the award shows over the last few years have been worth looking at. It ain’t got nothing to do with Bee. She ain’t got no Godly powers, to make things magically happen.

Haters just accept the truth. Beyonce is the Queen of the BET Awards. She has performed 5 times and opened 2 times.
She puts asses in seats and makes people tune in. A LOT of people watch the BET Awards just to see her. Ciara,Ashanti,Rihanna,and so on do not perform as well as her and they do not make people tune in.
Beyonce=high ratings. End of story.
