Maybe if he actually articulated his opinion in an intellectual way some people may actually care what he has to say. Instead, he sounds like some old ignorant rapper who has lost all relevance. I’m not disputing what his point is at all, but it isn’t just rap that has lower quality, its R&B too. At the end of the day the radio plays what people want to hear. What are Souljah Boy and Lil Mama supposed to rap about? If you think Lil Mama can’t rap listen to her freestyle of Milli. I’d rather hear them rap about lipgloss and crank that than hear them glorify violence and s** like Ice-T did in his day. Doesn’t matter anyway because no one under 20 really knows who Ice-T is…except for being the dude on Law & Order.

I don’t like Soulja Boy but i really like Lil’ Mama! I like the fact that Lil’ Mama has an equal balance of funs songs (Lip Gloss, Shawty Get Loose, G Slide) and more serious stuff (L.I.F.E, College etc) Hip hop doesn’t all have to be about the seriousness of life!

I don’t like any of Lil Mama or Soulja Boys music but Ice T has no right to come in and criticize those kids for doing what they do best. Most not be too bad b/c America’s still buying the crap. All Ice T want is attention..maybe he’s about to drop a album or something. And any valid points he had were rebuffed, in my opinion, for the lack of maturity in his responses.
By the way, Who said Ice T’s music was good anyway? His music was the equality of SoulJa’s music.
