The video for Keri Hilson’s latest assault on the charts ‘Return The Favor’ premiered on Yahoo Music a few moments ago. As an avid fan of the song, I’m pleased that the video really compliments what is an excellent track. Futuristic and edgy, the clip (correct me if wrong) sees Timbaland oversee the makings of a star. Indeed, if this song takes off (which I hope it does), Keri could be on her way to stardom.

So I guess when Keri was saying that this video was going to introduce the “superstar Keri,” she meant it was going to aim at selling s** appeal.
2nd I like how it kinda did the intro with “The Way I Are,” but that should have been done for her first leading/solo track which would have been “Energy.” Now if they would have switched the clip from, “The Way I Are,” to “Energy,” then start the video for “Return The Favor,” that would have made a lot more sense.
3rd, I’m not feeling all of the Rihanna copies. First when Keri was like by all of the mirrors, Rihanna did that exact type of thing in her video for, “SOS (Rescue Me).” Secondly when she was attempting to do a dance routine at the end of the video, in the dark/black clothing and dancing on water, is damn near exactly what Rihanna did in “Umbrella,” except she was bare-foot and held an umbrella.
I mean over it wasn’t too intriguing, but it wasn’t that bad.
Still Keri should have definitely went with the Demo version of the song, the “Kiss me and I’ll kiss you back…” chorus is much more interesting than the, “hey, hey ,hey…I’ll return the favor,” chorus!

why is it when someone does something they are coping someone else.. Rihanna wasn’t the first neither was Beyonce.. I think the video was good, good job.. Everyone is different so stop comparing them.. Everyone copies especially from movies.. Movies are the originators of all the special effects and thoughts of concepts of videos.. I agree with some elements being like Rihanna more in the terms of lookwise, mainly with Keri’s short hairdo and that pink bra and skirt combo apart from that I don’t think she is copying Rihanna and this is the first song and Video where Keri stands out and becomes the main focus, video much better then Engery, overall it’s a good video, Timbaland will help with the airplay

So in no way shape or form, was I trying to diss Keri Hilson, or any of her talents. I give it up to her for being a song writer; I do know that is where the money is at! But who compared her to Beyonce, I never did, and I only saw another person mention Ciars, so where did Beyonce come up??
When I mentioned the fact that the video features scenes that reminded me of Rihanna’s videos, I wasn’t insinuating that it was a bad move on her part, or that she copied them directly. I know those two aspects are not owned by Rihanna!
Side note, what’s with all of the calling Rihanna a h**? I know some don’t appreciate her music but does that make her a ‘non-singing, doesn’t write her own lyrics h**’?
I really just would have liked to see Keri come out with a mind blowing music video to set her career off. That being said, I really do like this song (but it’s better with the Demo’s chorus). And I must agree I find it extremely hard to see Ms. Hilson having a Pop Superstar career in the music game vocally(Not dissing her vocal range AT ALL). Maybe lyrically as a writer, but who ever said she doesn’t have the “IT” factor, is right in my eyes, currently!!
One thing I will say is this song (“Return The Favor”), to me sounds exactly like a 2008 version of Nelly Furtado’s “Promiscuous.” And Timbaland’s strong input on the song (features vocals, production) doesn’t help defeat that opinion of mine.
