Britney Spears’ really does seem poised for a major comeback, after her current single ‘Womanizer’ hit the #1 spot this week on the Billboard Hot 100: Another week, another record-breaking jump to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Britney Spears makes a near-maximum 96-1 rise with “Womanizer,” returning to the top of the list for the first time since her debut single “…Baby One More Time” hit No. 1 in January 1999.
This is the third time in the past two months that the mark for the biggest jump to No. 1 has been shattered. On the Hot 100 dated Sept. 6, T.I. soared 71-1 with “Whatever You Like” and last week he sprinted 80-1 with “Live Your Life.”
Spears’ single is spurred by first-week download sales of 286,000, the biggest opening-week tally by a female artist since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking digital downloads in 2003, besting Mariah Carey’s take for “Touch My Body” by just over 200 units. {Source}
Though the song is rubbish IMO, I’m still real happy for her – considering the drama of the last few years. More power to her!

YAAAAAAY!! This is exactly what Britney needs, and in my opinion I think the song and video are both flippin’ fantastic. She will get a number one in the UK as well no doubt about it.

I can’t believe this is her second number 1 in the states, She’s had more number 1s in the UK, This ain’t her best song but because it has taken her so long to hit the top spot with a single then she deserve it but I still think the song is CRAP, no not a hater but a EX Britney Fan, lol

I am really happy for Britney. I do not like the song or the video as I believe it is an average video and not her best. But because she is putting more of an effort into than she has with her previous work, then I say GO GIRL!
Some opinions should be kept quiet. Britney doesn’t have the fanbase she used to. It is much smaller…but she is breaking records here. Obviously this is a good song in hundreds of thousands (n the US alone) peoples opinions. So when you say that this song is CRAP, it makes you sound a little out of touch.

I love Britney but I am gonna keep it real- the main reason why this song is so successful is because it’s by Britney and everyone wants her to make a comeback due to her recent mental breakdown. Okay song but it’s clear why it’s so successful she’s profiting off of her breakdown. I’m not hating go girl get that money!
