Former Danity Kane vixen Aubrey O’Day was interviewed at some random club opening in Miami recently. When asked about her post-Diddy/DK career, O’Day gushed about a number of projects she has in the pipeline – including her debut solo album.
I’m left scratching my head for a number of reasons. Not least because I’ve heard nothing of a new record label/deal Aubrey has signed (to). Will the album drop via Bad Boy? What’s more there have been whispers as of late that Aubrey was spotted laughing with none other than Diddy at a Los Angeles clothing store recently. A TV stunt, perhaps? Who knows. I’m just thinking the best outcome for all involved would be for Danity Kane to come back together as a five-piece. IMO, solo efforts, at this junction, is a no no. Too much drama surrounding the group for anyone of them to breakout solo. Never say never though…

I say if she can work it, and do it then get it done. Diddy has some points, but he is not God. She has the right to make her own path. Diddy could end up sorry over this. She is the one with that it Factor… Doesn’t matter if she can’t sing as well, She can sing and dance.
The things people do and say to stay relevant never ceases to amaze me . . . My thought is this. WHen you are signed to a label, you can’t simply be fired and you can’t just up and quit. Anyway who has taken BUS 101 knows that is a Breach of Contract, whether it be verbal or written. The entire publicity stunt is getting out of hand. No matter if she performs with DK or not, as long as she is under contract, she gets paid. If Diddy bans her from performing, she can sue his ass and vice verse. Just like Eminem is still making money off if 50, who is still making money off the Game. Its a vicious cycle that people don’t realize they are caught up in until its too late and they can’t get away until all financial and legal obligations have been fulfilled. Hence the reason neither Aubrey nor D. Woods is the least bit worried.
Your comments Anonymous 11:53 are very insightful. I never thought about the contract Aubrey and D. Woods have with Bad Boy. Well, she is capitalizing on her fame from Danity Kane, which is very smart. Wow, I never suspect a solo deal so fast.
I heard that it was actually time for their contracts to be renewed and they weren’t offerd a renewal contract, or at leaset aubrey wasn’t or something like that, idk……………..
Yes the whole issue about contracts is very important but you have to remember that contracts do have clauses so if Aubrey and D. Woods people(lawyers) didn’t make sure the slightest things could have them in void of their contract then by something tiny thing they did or didn’t do, they could have gotten fired-easily!
So you have to take that int consideration as well when you say that no matter what a contract means your liable till the end date/total albums made.
Good point to bring up though because I was also thinking about that too,because if they followed all of the rules, that would mean that if anything Diddy would have to buy them out of their separate contracts individually.

That issue aside, I think if Aubrey found the right colaborators [meaning feature-able artists and producers] she could seriously deliver a great album.
I know that if I was a Record Executive I would quickly try to sign her and get her to release a dance/club-intended/R&B single to/for iTunes fast, and then see how it did. If it did will test a follow up from a different sound, such as a Pop ballad type of song or a mid tempo and if they did well I would have her sign really quick.

People need to stop dissin my girl she is very talented and could make a solo career on the industry. But all that aside I as a Danity Kane fan i think that they will get back but theres hopen I will tune into the first episode of the new season but if they dont get back together i will not be a danity kane fan or a fan of bad boy and focus on Aubrey and D woods carrer because they’ll going to go BIG!!!!!! Danity kane fans however will slowly dissapear because how can I or DK fans belive in them I mean these girls seem like sisters together as five and if Diddy kicks a member of the group out they should tell diddy peace and join antother lable and with 2 #1 albums they have the fanbase to make the third time a charm but not with them other three chicks as the new DK3 Be sisters stick together!!!! To stay relevant she can anything. She called dk drama a blessing situation. At the same time everybody knows she wrote tons of letters diddy gives her a second chance. But diddy replied, she must come back to the first aubrey; now she is trying to do it: no more aubrey is gossip news, no more aubrey showing boobs to paps, no more tone of make-up, no more dog on aubrey, etc.
Aubrey had a interview not too long ago and she said out of her own mouth that Danity Kane is signed to a 7album contract. That does not include live albums or holiday albums……. 7 studio albums…. So just incase my math is wrong ..you do the math that still means that they have 5 albums too do.
