Former 3LW star Naturi Naughton spoke with Black Tree Media recently about playing the role of rapper Lil’ Kim in the forthcoming Notorious B.I.G movie (due in theatres this month). I’m kinda iffy about her being chosen to play Kim and watching the snippets within the feature still has me feeling the same. I guess time will tell if she holds her own with the role in the movie.

she can pass with the appearance. however, she doesn’t have Lil Kim’s flow. It’s sounds like a white girl trying to rap.
The movie is a biopic. They are never accurate. I feel like its close enough. I personally think that in the clip we saw with her interacting with Big I could definately see Kim’s mannerisms and whole demeanor. I think people should watch the movie as if they had no clue to whom these characters are and then make your culmination. Prime example: Derek Luke looks NOTHING LIKE PUFFY! So what his job is to resemble and capture the essence of Puffy. Not be a clon or twin! Give the movie a break!
Bwwahahahaha lmao. Hell NAH!!! This movie looks like it should’ve been on HBO or something, not the big screen. It looks terrible.
Obama Mama I agree 100% just like they are gonna do an Aaliyah movie with Keyshia Chante (I think that’s her name anyway google Aaliyah movie) playing her she don’t look like her to me but it’s better not to have a high profile person play the role as they might not do it justice, but i’ve see the trailer for Notorious and it looks good to me but people are entitled to their opinion.
I think it’s good she got the role yeah she ain’t as light as kim but so what she’s got the look Kim had when she started out before she messed up her face and body with all that plastic surgery
keisha is as close to Aaliyah’s appearance as it’s going to get.

most importantly I think she can nail her mannerisms, dance, and study her swag cose enough to pull it off. She is working closely with Aaliyah’s family and choreographers. Plus, Aaliyah was one of her idols even before she died.

Obama Mama said what I was thinking. I’ll just wait until I see the film in it’s entirety before I can judge of whether Naturi was convincing or not. Appearance wise, she reminds me of Kim before surgery, now pulling off Kim’s flow is another story. She has done Broadway and will be in the new TV version of FAME, so maybe she can.
Now the character I’m iffy about is their choice for Pac. I saw a few of his scenes, on Youtube and although he is a good actor I’m not convinced he was the best choice to play Pac.
Someone mentioned Keisha Chante playing Aaliyah, and I think the resemblance is spot on. Go look at her musc videos on Youtube if you haven’t seen them. I felt like I was looking at Aaliyah in some scenes. I also heard Aaliyah’s family hand picked Keisha Chante personally so I think the film will turn out decent. @3:26 thanks for the info about Keisha working with Aaliyah’s choreographers.
