Yesterday, Christina Aguilera revealed the official cover of her soon-to-be-released track ‘Not Myself Tonight’ and promised a surprise for her fans every day this week. The song, which was written and produced by Ester Dean and Polow Da don, will be the first single to be lifted off her upcoming ‘Bionic’ LP which hits stores later this year. While the lyrics are in no way monumental or life-changing, the song sounds like it will be geared toward the clubs. If it is anything similar to any of Polow’s recent work (see: Keri Hilson’s ‘Turnin Me On’), expect it to be an Urban up-tempo laced with thumping beats (hopefully without Aguilera’s added screeching). Let’s see what Xtina has in store for us tomorrow…

the song is written by someone who is young (Ester Dean) . She’s writing from her point view and youths like to party and go clubbing. So Xtina is just trying to appeal to the youth especially if this is going to be a club banger. Smart way to pull money into her pockets.

As a songwriter myself, I give props to Ester Dean for writing this, as well as her current number 1 “Rude Boy.”
But I do think this song seems very generic. It seems like something so simple, and like it didn’t take much thought into writing. But hey Christina Aguilera is an artist, and she knows what shes picking through.
I’m guessing the song has a killer beat, because the lyrics don’t seem like they’ll be the star of this song. They’re prob banking on the fact that its Aguilera on a hot produced track. Cause Ester Dean isn’t well known as a songwriter NOR artist!

I cannot wait wait to hear the record and the album! I love Christina and I know it’s gonna be great! I’m kinda shocked that she’s releasing a song she didn’t write! This is her 4th album and I think she’s a great song writer. With Christina she already has her foot in the industry, she doesn’t have anything to prove because we all know she’s amazing! I think when the album’s out, and we see her inspiration for her new album, all those Lady Gaga comparison’s will fade! Christina is all about doing her own thing and being original by not following the pack! Plus she doesn’t have to use shock value or where outragous outfits to sell records. She’s a real artist with amazing vocals, not to mention in a different ball field the Lady Gaga.

The lyrics are exciting to me, actually. It sounds like she going to come back out with a “Stripped/Dirrty” type of record, something that was clearly missing from the Back 2 Basics era.

I don’t get the Lady Gaga comparisons either. Christina’s been working on this album for over 2 years and was inspired by electronic futuristic styles, long before Lady Gaga was even discovered. Gaga on the other hand was inspired by the same thing but released her album first and made her mark on the industry, so now after a few years from working on her albm the media is trying to compare her to riping off Gaga. The media is just trying to create a rivalry between them like how they did with Britney . I think her music will speak for itself, once everyone see’s what her new album is all about.
