Diddy-Dirty hit the stage on ‘Le Grand Journal’ recently. The trio performed ‘Hello, Good Morning’ which has thus far peaked at #34 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #32 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Charts. Check out the footage below:
That was the typical Diddy performance with a loud backtrack and a fancy light show. While he put on a great show and engaged the audience like only he can, what’s interesting is how Dawn and Kalenna basically play the role of his background singers. Kalenna is a highly accomplished songwriter and Dawn was a part of a platinum-selling group yet they have been reduced to being Diddy’s hype people. That’s a damn shame.

I’m surprised that people don’t see the opportunity that both Dawn & Kaleena have with this group. If Dawn would have released a solo album after DK it would have flopped. Yes DK was a platinum selling group but nobody knew them outside the U.S Where are the rest of Danity Kane???? She needed a new image and exposure outside of reality tv. Diddy has given her an opportunity to work with the best of the best in the industry and I am sure she is networking. Her fans know that she has other things going on outside of DM that the public will see in the near future. As far as Kaleena it’s a win win situation for her. She is still writing for artist (most recent Christina’s Bionic album) making money and now she can play the role of the artist. Both of these women get to sing, write, travel and do what they love seems like an ok situation to me.

The girls only get to sing a chorus of a song, and diddy takes the rest.
