R. Kelly Performs At World Cup Opening Ceremony

Published: Friday 11th Jun 2010 by Trent

R. Kelly hit the stage at the 2010 FIFA World Cup Opening Ceremony in Johannesburg, South Africa recently. The R&B veteran performed a new song entitled ‘Sign of Victory’ alongside the Soweto Spiritual Singers. Check out the performance below:

Songs like this are what separate R. Kelly from many of his younger counterparts who can’t seem to sing about anything except love, sex and relationships. He is truly a profound artist who can craft songs encompassing a wide range of emotions; inspiring listeners across the spectrum. While there have been many pretenders who have attempted to claim the title of the ‘King of R&B’, it is important to remember that it takes a lot more than 1 gold-certified album and 1 top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 to be called the greatest. Recognise.
