It’s been a bitter-sweet few months for R&B star Ciara. While her comeback single ‘Ride’ has gone on to become an Urban smash, the 24 year old’s ‘Basic Instinct’ LP has been subject to a series of delays. The album is now due in October.
Undeterred, the dynamo performer is readying not one, but two new music videos.

While doing the radio rounds last night, she revealed to Soul 104.5’s ‘The Buzz’ that she is is about to shoot videos for ‘Ride’s’ dual-follow-up singles ‘Gimmie Dat‘ and ‘Speechless’.
Though offering little else in the way of info, the singer vowed to keep pushing on, regardless of who doubts her.

Got to love Ms. Harris’ fighting spirit, despite the whole project’s time-line (prior to now) being ThePits.com (the ‘Ride’ video was released way back in April, yet only now are they readying its follow-up).
Nonetheless, Ciara never disappoints on the video front; hence we’ll no doubt be in for treat with her latest batch.
Randomness: Say what you will, but my gut tells me ‘Basic Instinct’ will enjoy some form of success; and at the very least will perform better than it’s predecessor ‘Fantasy Ride’.

I think Ciara will do just fine. I’m sure these 2 videos will be awesome. Cici’s amazing in her vids. I think Basic Instinct will be off to a good start. I’m sure she’ll have 3 top 10r&b hits(one #1) and a hot 100 top 10 by the time the album hit stores! I can’t wait.

I agree Sam. Ride is already a hit on urban radio. Gimme Dat is SUCH an adrenaline-based record that hopefully it will be successful with both urban and mainstream audiences. Also, the song Speechless is such a good song! I’m anticipating buying her new album.
Gimme Dat is already on the radio in my area (the NYC/NJ) area and it has been big on XM radio as well. Speechless is being played on XM radio to the “lighter” r&b and top 40 radio. I think it’s a good idea. People would be able to grasp onto something and plus with two videos out there, especially with the way she kills it in the videos, it will guarantee that people will TALK about her which should equal more sales.
if were thinking about Beyonce her sweet dreams was leaked before her album came out as Beautiful Nightmare it did not hurt her career to come out with the song as a sing and a video, and even going back to Trust by Keyshia Cole was leaked before the ablum without Monica on the track she still realease it as a single, My point is people don’t care if a song is hot then it is just hot and I feel Ciara needs to keep the fight Speechless is a catchy traack, ans it will probally do well as a single.

Ok i think her team is getting it together now. In spite of “Speechless” being leaked already, R&B radio is going to eat that track up, and I think it’s the perfect follow-up for “Ride” for the urban market. “Gimmie Dat” is already a high energy song but I’m sure new life is going to be brought to that track once the video is released (just like “Ride”).
Ciara has another R&B hit on her hands, and “Speechless” i think will follow “Ride” straight to the top of the Urban Charts, so this will at least get Basic Instinct a good backing for its release. Does anyone know if she is still on Usher’s new song?
