Kelly Rowland Readying Two Versions Of New LP

Published: Tuesday 17th Aug 2010 by Sam

With Kelly Rowland still hard away at work on her third studio album, particulars about the project have remained closely guarded. However, during a recent promotional stop at Houston’s ‘The Mad Hatta Morning Show’, the Grammy winner revealed that there are set to be two versions of her as-yet-untitled LP.

Full story after the jump….

When quizzed about the Dance songs on the record, Rowland lifted the lid on the fact that there will now be US and ‘overseas’ editions of the album. While the Stateside version is to be primarily Pop/R&B, the International incarnation will house such tracks as well as the more Dance-inspired songs.

Interesting. With Rowland serving as one type of artist in one territory, and another in the next, one has to wonder if such standing puts her in a privileged or precarious position. For, in catering to different markets, it’s also imperative for Kelly to establish the artist she wants to be more generally.

Nonetheless, it remains an exciting time to be a Kelly Rowland fan. With more editions of the album, comes more music – which can only be a good thing  if the heard material is anything to go by.

As at writing, Rowland’s album is due ‘this Fall’, and boasts contributions from the likes of Ne-Yo, Stargate, Tricky Stewart, Ester Dean, Jim Jonsin, Dr Luke, Chris Brown, Rico Love, David Guetta, and Bangladesh.
