Lady GaGa: “I Still Use Cocaine”

Published: Tuesday 3rd Aug 2010 by Sam

In what looks to be the first major controversy Lady GaGa has found herself in, the 24 year old superstar has admitted to Vanity Fair magazine that she uses Cocaine. This, despite, her much publicised battle with drug addiction – and eventual overcoming of it.

Full story below…

The ‘Bad Romance’ singer was sure to underscore the fact that she is “terrified of Heroin”, yet “mostly” does Cocaine.

Speaking of her use of the Class A drug, she said: “I won’t lie; it’s occasional. And when I say occasional, I mean maybe a couple of times a year.”

Perhaps realising the potential backlash her comments could incite, GaGa added:

“I do not want my fans to ever emulate that or be that way. I don’t want my fans to think they have to be that way to be great. It’s in the past. It was a low point, and it led to disaster.

I was completely mental and had just been through so much. I hit rock bottom, and it was enough to send a person over the edge. My mother knew the truth about that day, and she screamed so loud on the other end of the phone, I’ll never forget it.

It was actually my Grandmother who I credit for saving me one day. I cried. I told her I thought my life was over and I have no hope and I’ve worked so hard, and I knew I was good. What would I do now? And she said, ‘I’m gonna let you cry for a few more hours. And then after those few hours are up, you’re gonna stop crying, you’re gonna pick yourself up, you’re gonna go back to New York, and you’re gonna kick some a**.'”

Sigh. It was all going so well…and now this. Granted GaGa has always been a  risqué type of artist, this is what is called taking it too far. As many a Hollywood scenario has shown, drugs in any capacity are a no-no. Yes, the reality is that many take such substances (and I’m sure GaGa will garner praise from a select few for her honesty); however, when you stand as one of the world’s biggest superstars, it is inevitable that you will command a young and very impressionable fan-base. Hence her “do as I say, not as I do” advice is worthless IMO.

Not impressed. But then again, I guess this “humanizes” her. Oh well..
