R&B star Ne-Yo is set to follow-up the chart-topping success of ‘Beautiful Monster’, with ‘One Life’ – the third single to be lifted from his fourth studio album ‘Libra Scale’ (due October 5th).

Sigh. Though a competent enough effort, the song sounds like it’d be at home on Ne-Yo’s earlier albums. At this point, releasing a single with a little more ‘kick’ wouldn’t go amiss. Still, the Stargate produced cut is radio friendly enough (which seems to be the aim of the game with most of Shaffer’s releases), hence should be a hit.

WHY are some people soooo Caught up on JUST club hits etc. etc. // Kelly Rowlands TGJ got like 80% hit (or whatever) but ne-yo got 60% something Miss?! that goes to show what this blog attracts …Ne-yo probably worked at writing this song and producing. YET kelly does what? wait for rico love or someone to write a record TRYING her best to get a hit? JUST SAYIN

It’s okay. It sounds like an album filler, not a single. He hasn’t matched the quality of his material from his last 3 albums so far (aside from ‘Champagne Life’). Hopefully his album serves.

Isn’t that the truth! Today’s music has no “soul” or “spirit”! Ppl just produce music in mass production (Lil Wayne, Drake, Nicki Mainaj, Diddy, Beyonce, Gaga, etc). Not to say that some of these artists aren’t excellent, but DAMN I am tired of ppl just producing anything and pushing it out knowing that this fake ass media is going to play it based solely on artists name recognition. I wish we could return to an industry in which one had to be both competent and concerned about not getting automatic airplay if their music was subpar!
