Jennifer Hudson Pushes Album To 2011

Published: Friday 17th Sep 2010 by Sam

Jennifer Hudson‘s eagerly awaited sophomore LP is the latest to join the slew of releases delayed until next year.

Full story below…

In a recent interview with Billboard, the 29 year old confirmed that she is still hard at work on the record (which was due for release before this year’s end). She recently wrapped the shooting of new movie ‘Winnie’ in South Africa.

Speaking on what we can expect from the album, which is still in its early stages, the mother of one said:

“I definitely want it to be more personal than the first album, and just more me — whatever that is, I don’t know yet but I’m going to find out. More flexible, more diverse”.

Luckily for Hudson, her case is markedly different from many of her chart counterparts in that she has been pre-occupied with a movie, and the album never had a set release date. Even with that, it’s been confirmed that the likes of Alicia Keys, Swizz Beats, and Rich Harrison have already made contributions to the record.

In any case, it’s great to see that Ms. Hudson is looking to explore a more dynamic sound this go round. For, her first album (save for a few tracks) was somewhat of a snoozer. Here’s hoping she delivers with this new LP.

Randomness: Has anyone else noticed that Hudson’s J Records label-mates (Fantasia, Monica, Jazmine Sullivan) have been serving up some of the year’s best material thus far? Fingers crossed Jenny continues the trend.
