Each day seems to yield something new in the roller-coaster that is Kelly Rowland‘s new project; the latest being the Urban Mix of the 29 year old’s new European single ‘Forever & A Day’.

I like! The stripped down number takes a leaf from Rico Love‘s Urban remix of ‘Commander’ – in that it fuses Rowland’s powerful Dance vocals with a melodic, R&B beat. Though not album worthy (with its ‘official-ness’ also being questionable -see: no bridge), the re-incarnated version of the song should appease Ms. Kelly’s Urban supporters.

OK, so after hearing from Kelly at the VMA aftershow, I get it. She is back in the studio to give a better and more solid effort here in the states. If you think about the truth of it, even if she does excellent overseas, she will always get scrutinized from the US for not “bringin it” here. Her label is making her put all that dance mess on hold (3 videos shot and all), to get it right this time. All respect. Its all about strategy!
all she needs for this song is young jeezy to drop some rhymes and a sick video, matter of fact why not drop the dance one for europe since she has already shot the video and this for the US. her team either have something up their sleeves or are just plain crazy.

This is a great urban cut, you know what miss kelly needs to do, she needs to release the forever and a day dance video in the uk and get young jeezy to drop some rhymes on this one, remake the video and release this state side. guaranteed hit. i tell ya either her team has one trick up their sleeve or they are just plain lousy.

I feel a bit sorry for Kelly. In trying to be a bit different, she is having to redo her album to fit n with the US market. Trouble is there are loads of artists around in the US doing the samey faceless R&B crud that the americans are buying. Its all so boring, loads of artists doing exactly the same thing. But I can understand why her label will want her to go this route. its just a pity.
