Chris Brown paid Angie Martinez at Hot 97 a visit today. The electric entertainer took the time to discuss his failed tour plans with Usher and even shared his views on false friends in the industry who he says can “kick some rocks”. Peep what he had to say below:
“We kinda had different views on the tour—no beef,” explained Chris. “We both have two different promoters, so whoever would get the tour would have to work it out and I think they didn’t see eye to eye. I think we rushed into it. We were in love with the idea more than the actual [business part of it]. We couldn’t get ready for it. Hopefully in the future, we might work something out.”
“It’s whatever, we cool. I’m cordial and that’s with everybody,” said Chris. “I don’t have friends in this industry. I have my circle and I have my people who’ve been with me through the bad times and the good times. Everybody else is just wallpaper.”
After the recent success of “Deuces,” industry folk came calling, but Chris could see through their fakeness. “I wasn’t like bitter. Now I see you for you. Get your money, do you. We can be cordial, we can be cool. Other than that, I don’t need to be your homie, like we don’t gotta go hang out.”
His experiences of the past year taught him who were his true friends. “I kinda just got a gauge of who was there and who wasn’t, so now I know who I can deal with. There’s people in my phone I’ll call and they’re my homies. I don’t need no more friends. Oh, you need me to do something for you? Holla at my manager.”
While he does maintain some industry relationships with those who supported him through his trying times, he has a message to the ones that weren’t there when he needed them most. “Kick some rocks.” {Source}

I know Jeremy. It is just like artists who release a date for their album, as well as music videos and singles, yet push back their albums. Makes no sense.
Having to major artists on tour will have differences and some of these promoters want “their” artist to be happy. So it is what it is. Like he said hopefully they can do something in the future.

Imagine having these people that you thought were your big brother or sister or homie and they said fu to you and not even give an advice just complete right you off? than come right back around the next couple months like nothing ever happened? These are actually only two of the Male R&B/Pop artists that I listen to (buy their albums)…While they both never publicly announced a tour, it’s pretty clear that something was being cooked up. Looks like they couldn’t come to certain business agreements (understandable)…Maybe one wanted to get top billing? Who knows? I’m eagerly awaiting Chris’s next album. There were about four songs that I liked off Graffiti.

That’s not to say EVERYONE in the industry is a wallpaper. I can recall Trey Songz, Bow wow, Keri Hilson, Omarion, Teyana Taylor and a few others being the main ones sticking by him and made it very clear. This was a good interview and there was nothing wrong or arrogant about him sharing his experience with others. Let’s not be biased.
