Mariah Carey presented her new album, ‘Merry Christmas II You’ to critics at the Lincoln Center in New York last evening. The world’s top-selling female artist was accompanied by her husband Nick Cannon and Island Def Jam CEO, LA Reid, onstage while discussing the process of the record’s development.
The LP, which hits stores on November 2nd, includes contributions from Marc Shaiman, Jermaine Dupri, Randy Jackson, James ‘Big Jim’ Wright and a powerhouse duet with Carey’s mother, Patricia. Check out Carey’s speech to those in attendance below:

At 1st I thought she sound pretty fake on her new material, but listening back on it again, I think she sound pretty good. And my number 1 diva is Whitney, but I will have to give MiMi her props. i may just get her cd. True story
Idk how much of this voice is all her, but she is pretty good in the studio.
She has such a great sense of humor! Definitely looks preggos.
Th album received great reviews from the listeners in attendance, and I can’t wait to get my copy!
Mariah will whistle her way through another flop. She’s whispers throughout a song, hits a high whistle at the end and the STANS go crazy. Mariah could never… She’s looking more and more like she f**** herself with Turkey Sausage all while eating Frito Corn Chips! Bye Mariah.

Didn’t LA Reid call Whitney Houston the greatest singer of all time? He and Babyface both said that. So he needs to make up his mind. Also, the lambs hyped up Memoirs the way they are hyping this XMAS project, and last time I checked, that album flopped hard. The same will happen again. There is no hype around this album outside of this blog.

Both Mariah and Whitney are are a shadow of themselves, but at least Mariah still has her studio quick-fix. Compare Mariah to any other singer’s material, and her material always sound so edited and tampered with. Say what you will but this list was not determined by Rollingstones themselves. All they did was tally the scores. It was based on a weighted average score card system determined from votes received from artists, record labels, exec’s, music critics, radio promoters, retailers, wholesalers, etc., etc. Doesnt mean Judy Garland and Babs wasnt mentioned; just that they didnt make the top 100 based ON THE VOTES TALLIED!! So they could be ranked 105, 110 or whatever. DEAL WITH IT BIATCH!!!!!!!!
Also, it wasnt purely just vocals, but the overall brand of the artist was considered as well in terms of marketability, sales, radio play, etc.

I don’t think using studio technology is a good thing! LOL Whitney is a live vocalist, Mariah is a studio artist. Her studio version may sound flawless in terms of production but all she does when she has to sing live is use a backing track. I used to have respect for Mariah. Still, I hope her new album gets the success it deserves – even though i’m not feeling oh santa at all. the single is already flopping, she should have started with something that sounds like a CLASSIC.
I duno.. I think oh santa’s has the potential to be a modern classic. It might not be your taste but classic doesn’t mean that it has to be all ballad-y or traditional.
