It’s been a minute since Jamie Foxx topped the charts with party smash ‘Blame It’. Since then the singer/actor has been working on new LP ‘Body’ (due December 14th), with a new cut from the set having surfaced today. Titled ‘Fall For Your Type’, a snippet of the Drake-assisted track has been floating around for some time now – yet only featuring vocals from the Canadian rapper.

Though it’s clear to see the direction the song was headed in (see: Drake’s ‘Fireworks’), it ultimately misses the mark. For, while the the airy mid-tempo excels production-wise, neither its lyrics nor vocal delivery prove enough to propel the song to anything beyond album filler. Sleep-inducing.

I like it, but I wish drake did the whole song. It fits him better.
i loved the demo with drake, but even though jamie has the better vocals, the song sounded better with drakes auto tuned vocals. this just doesn’t sound right, maybe because i have the orginal in my head. plus that rap did nothing to elevate the track.
I liked the demo version of this from Drake. It would be a good filler song. I can see myself falling asleep or some would get high to a song like this.

@ A I didnt expect anyone to say that, but I can certainly see it. Brandy can give the vocals this track needs. Jamie comes on a little too strong. It requires subtlety. Drake did the song well, but if I had to see someone else on it, it’d be brandy.

NO JAMIE! He is SO much better than this. I hope this isn’t gonna be his single. It’s okay, more of an album song, though.
His last two albums were A-MA-ZING! Especially the most recent one.
The thing is, he always makes a few songs that he thinks will appeal to the masses (i.e. Blame it on the Alcohol) that usually become his singles but he also puts songs on the album that are so phenomenally R&B. The first half of his last album was more hip-hop/club songs and the other half was so R&B and freaking awesome.
BTW: What’s funny is all of his albums are released around December 15 because it’s his birthday. 🙂
i dunno. it is pretty cool. may not be a single but it definitely is cool. I can see it on an album. I like it.
