Christina Aguilera Performs Halloween Concert

Published: Monday 1st Nov 2010 by Trent

Christina Aguilera performed at a mini concert at an exclusive Halloween party this weekend. The singer delivered renditions of several of her hits including ‘Genie In A Bottle’ and ‘Beautiful’ as well as covers of Etta James’ ‘At Last’ and Patti Labelle’s ‘Lady Marmalade’. Check out the footage below:

Is it me or did Aguilera seemed a bit disheveled and unlike her usual self? There were points in the performances where it looked like she forgot the lyrics and the flow of the song (see ‘At Last’). Then again, maybe she was just having fun and trying to switch things up in the moment.

However, Aguilera’s voice has definitely changed. It has become huskier and she is clearly still trying to understand how to use it while singing her older material. Aguilera should consider doing what Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey have done in recent years – rearrange the music to suit her current vocal condition, avoid singing songs that expose her weaknesses or change her singing style altogether.

Sidebar: What was Aguilera wearing? She needs to put that outfit in the bottle with the genie and wish it away.
