The video for Keri Hilson‘s latest Urban single ‘The Way You Love Me’ premièred moments ago on World Star Hip Hop. Serving as Hilson’s third visual offering from her forthcoming ‘No Boys Allowed’ LP, it’s clear that the singer-songwriter is not playing when it comes to her sophomore effort (due December 21st).
Check out the secret-agent themed video below. The Laurie-Ann Gibson directorial debut sees cameo appearances from the likes of JoJo, Faith Evans, and of course Rick Ross who features on the track.
All the action after the jump. It’s a must-see…
Wow. Where does one begin?
Putting to one side the garbage that is the song (the lyrics still have my jaw on the floor), the video is an admitted home-run. If only for its on the money matching of the track’s hard-hitting nature. That, and of course the shock and awe evoked when seeing Ms. Hilson in a way we’ve never seen her before – a surefire way to get folk talking.
If there’s one critique besides the appalling song itself, it’s the somewhat forced nature of Hilson’s sex-appeal. For, despite being a stunning woman, there was a distinct air of ‘desperate’ in the choreography and outfit choices. Surely we should be able to appreciate her sexuality from a distance, as opposed to being near-enough breast-fed on screen.
That said, this was the first video in some time to truly catch me off guard ala Christina Aguilera‘s ‘Dirrty’. Whether that’s for better or for worse, I’m still negotiating. In the meanwhile though…
